I’ve been running my business since my early 20s while juggling an MBA at the same time so I’m saying this from experience.

DON’T start a COMPANY in your early 20s.

It’s not as glamorous as it looks.

You’ll be writing business plans one hour and submitting class assignments the next.

You’ll pitch to people twice your age and still wonder if you belong in the room.

You’ll miss out on the “normal” college life because you chose the unpredictable one.

But it changes you in ways nothing else can.

YESSS…

I would NOT recommend unless you’re willing to..

1. Get comfortable with the uncomfortable: 
When you’re young in business, you’ll constantly feel like you don’t belong. You’ll pitch to people twice your age, negotiate deals that feel out of your league, and show up to meetings where everyone assumes you’re “too early.”

I used to hate speaking up, now discomfort is my daily workout. The more you face it, the more power it gives you.


2. Remember your worth especially when no one else does.
There were days when I questioned why I even started this early. Nothing seemed to move fast enough, and I constantly felt like I was falling short.

That’s when I began keeping a folder on my laptop called “WINS.”
Screenshots, appreciation messages, testimonials ,small reminders that I am progressing, even when it doesn’t feel like it.

Because self-doubt is loud.
Proof is louder.


3. Say yes before you feel ready.
When you start young, you won’t have it all figured out  and that’s your advantage.

I said yes to every opportunity I could get my hands on: new industries, new clients, new challenges.

Each one stretched me in ways a textbook never could.

When things start to move in your favor you suddenly stop showing up...
 
You call it “losing motivation.”
But...
 
It’s  actually FEAR
Not of failing of finally winning.
 
I bet you didn't even notice this phenomenon happening with you in your own DAMNNN LIFE.
 
here’s the part no one tells you about success.
 
It doesn’t just change your income.
It changes your identity.
 
And most people aren’t ready for that kind of confrontation.
 
Psychology says we fear success more than failure..
 
Failure feels familiar,
...it gives us a soft landing, an excuse, an audience of people who nod when we say “Times are tough.”
 
It lets us:
→ binge Netflix guilt-free
→ blame the market or the algorithm
→ keep dreaming instead of doing
 
Success on the other hand?
 
Success makes you grow.
It demands responsibility.
 
It demands consistency.
It demands that you show up every damn day even when you’re not being applauded.
 
It asks you to leave behind the version of yourself that was “trying”
and become the one that executes.
 
And that’s where most people freeze.
Because winning means you can’t hide anymore.
You can’t keep saying “one day.”
 
You can’t blame the system. You become the system.
 
So if lately you’ve been:
→ procrastinating right before your big break,
→ sabotaging your own momentum,
→ or “waiting for clarity” that never seems to come
 
Maybe it’s not confusion &
Maybe it’s resistance the kind that shows up when you’re standing too close to the person you’re meant to become.

Buy the damn watch.
Or that bag, Or that thing you once saw as a child and thought “one day.”
 
We often romanticize hard work, but somewhere in that hustle we stop giving permission to the little version of us to celebrate.
 
The same child who once looked at shop windows with wonder.
 
The same child who believed that success meant joy not just survival.
 
And now when you can finally afford it  you call it “unnecessary spending.”
You tell yourself *“not now, maybe later.”

But later never comes, because the bar for what’s “enough” keeps moving.
 
Here’s something I’ve realized,
You’re not working this hard just to build a career.
You’re working this hard to heal the part of you that once dreamed of being able to.
 
So yes,
Book that solo trip.
Gift yourself that dress without checking the price tag twice.
 
Not because it’s luxury but because it’s closure.
It’s telling your younger self, "We made it.”
 
That same little kid who used to count pennies now gets to make choices.
 
I remember when I started earning
I was hesitant to spend a rupee on myself.
 
(I thought saving was strength.)
Which often times is true..
 
But over time, I realized denying joy is not discipline.
 
It’s actually ( emotional scarcity.)
 
Now I love spending on myself on good dresses, bags, skincare, small trips.
 
Because that little girl named Lovely, still lives inside me.
 
She still wants to feel proud of what she’s become.
 
She still wants to celebrate every small win.
 
We often talk about healing our inner child like it’s some abstract therapy concept.
 
But healing isn’t always journaling or meditating.
Sometimes it’s simply allowing yourself to enjoy what you once prayed for.
 
You’re not being materialistic.
You’re being grateful in your own love language.
 
What’s that one thing your younger self always dreamt of having that you can now afford?

"Play long-term games with long-term people."
 
When I first came across this quote, it sounded like one of those sophisticated Silicon Valley mantras the kind you nod at and scroll past.
 
But as I started working, experimenting, and building in my own little corner of Calcutta, I realized how brutally true it is  especially in India.
 
Here, long-term thinking is almost a luxury.
Everyone is in a race a race to prove, to post, to arrive.
 
You start something with your friends, full of energy and dreams - a project, a business, a social initiative and within a few months, someone’s preparing for exams, another’s applying abroad, and a third is suddenly engaged.
 
The group chat dies.
The idea dissolves.
And you sit there wondering- was I the only one who meant it long-term?
 
That’s when I understood Naval Ravikant's quote.
 
“Long-term people” aren’t just people who stay  they’re people who believe in staying.
 
They don’t jump ships every time the tide changes. They build ships that can survive tides.
 
In the last few years, I’ve learned that playing long-term games requires:
 
📍Patience when no one’s clapping for you.
 
📍Vision when no one else can see what you’re building.
 
📍And most importantly, the courage to keep showing up even when it feels like you’re building alone.
 
Because here’s the truth long-term people may not always be around you in college, in your city, or even in your friend circle.
 
Sometimes, they find you later.
 
Sometimes, you become one by refusing to quit halfway.

If you’re serious about building a business 
 
Try this small weekend experiment.
 
Go for a walk.
Not a casual scroll-through-Instagram walk but an Entrepreneur’s walk.
 
As you pass by shops, cafés, salons, and bakeries, ask yourself:
 
> How does this business make money?
> How much might they earn in a day?
> How many people do they employ?
> What does their rent look like?
> What did it take to start this?
> And if I owned it  how would I run it better?
 
Sounds simple, right?
 
But this single habit can train your brain to think like a founder.
 
Because once you start seeing the world through business math, you stop seeing shops
You start seeing systems.
 
You realize why one café thrives while another shuts down.
 
Why some businesses are scalable and some are survival-based.
 
You start noticing:
➝ pricing psychology,
➝ Team dynamics,
➝ Customer flow,
➝ and operational gaps most people miss.
 
That’s how business clarity starts not from courses, but from curiosity.
 
You’ll slowly build three underrated entrepreneurial muscles:
 
1) Observation : spotting what others overlook.
2) Operational thinking : connecting numbers to outcomes.
3) Opportunity awareness : seeing what could be done better.
 
Do this once and you’ll walk differently forever.
You’ll stop saying, “I wish I had an idea,”
and start realizing… the world is your idea board.
 
Take that walk this weekend.
 
Answer those six questions for at least one business.
 
Then come back and share what you learned.
 
Because the more we discuss how businesses actually work,
the faster we all grow as founders.

Every big win in my business started with one thing…
And most people won’t believe it  because it’s too underrated.

It’s not funding.
Not networking.
Not even consistency.

It’s clarity.

Whenever I’ve achieved something meaningful - landing a dream client, doubling conversions, or closing a major partnership..
it always began with getting brutally clear about one thing: “What exactly am I trying to achieve  and why?”

Sounds simple, right?

 But here’s what most people miss: 
-They start creating content without clarity on who they’re talking to.
- They start selling without clarity on what problem they’re solving.
- They start scaling without clarity on what’s actually working.

Let me give you a real example:
Earlier this year, I was struggling with outreach campaigns.

Dozens of messages sent. Barely any replies.
So I paused.

Spent 3 days studying my best clients.

Wrote down : what do they actually value, what pain do they actually feel, and what results do they actually want?

Once I got that clarity, I reworked my pitch to speak directly to those pain points.

Within 10 days, my response rate went from( 8% to 46%.)

Same effort. Same person.
 
Different clarity.

You can’t BUILD something LEGENDARY while begging for approval from people who NEVER risked anything.
 
And that’s the trap most ambitious people fall into 
 
They want to do something uncommon,
but crave validation from people who chose the comfortable.
 
When you start something new a business, a brand, a vision 
you’ll face 3 kinds of people:
 
1️⃣ Those who don’t get it but silently respect you.
2️⃣ Those who pretend to support you while secretly waiting for you to fail.
3️⃣ And those who’ll actively discourage you not because they’re right, but because your courage reminds them of their own compromises.
 
Psychologists say the human brain is wired to seek belonging more than success.
 
That’s why rejection feels painful  even when it’s coming from people who have no relevance to your purpose.
 
But success requires (Rejection immunity.)
 
You can’t create transformation if you’re ADDICTED to VALIDATION.
 
Even
I used to overthink every decision 
 
→ “Will they think I’m overconfident?”
 
I realized something brutally simple..
 
The people whose opinions I feared most… weren’t even doing what I wanted to do.
 
And,
I stopped chasing approval.
 
I started chasing ALIGNMENT.
And every bold move I made after that 
→ attracted better clients
→ built stronger confidence
→ and created REAL results.
 
Quote I live by:
> If you want to avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.
 
You understand what the quote means? Yes? Good for you! ✨

A mindset shift that completely changed how I move in business (and life):
 
Walk into every interaction with one goal: 
Add as much value as humanly possible.
 
Not “how can I charge for this?”
Not “what’s in it for me?”
Just : how can I genuinely help?
 
The more I leaned into that, the more everything started compounding  trust, opportunities, even income.
 
Because here’s the truth no one told me early on
 
If you’re scared to share what you know, you’re operating from scarcity.
You think knowledge is limited.
You think if they win, you lose.
 
But that’s not how real growth works.
This world is plentiful.
 
When you help freely, your credibility multiplies.
 
When you share openly, people remember you
 
And when you create more value than you capture  money, trust, and respect start chasing you instead of the other way around.
 
If you’re making money, it’s not because you took it from someone.
 
It’s because you created something valuable enough that the world rewarded you for it.
 
A net gain happened.
 
Start helping first.
Profit later.
It changes everything.

Most people aren’t failing....
Here’s a funny truth no one really tells you:

You don’t need to be smarter.
You don’t need to be luckier.
You don’t even need to be more talented.

You just need to outwork people.

Run slightly faster. Show up slightly more.

Try slightly harder.

And eventually? You’ll lap them.

Not everything is a race.
Not every moment is a competition.

But any real endeavor business, content, skill, career is a game of effort.

You get out exactly what you put in.

And most people stop.
They wait. They scroll. They hesitate.

And while they do that… someone else is quietly putting in the work.

The edge isn’t genius.
The edge isn’t connections.

It’s grit, consistency, and the willingness to keep moving when others don’t.

So yeah run your own race, but run.

Every day. Every small effort compounds.

Every time you show up, you’re inching past the ones who stopped.

Eventually, the gap isn’t small.

It’s unmissable!

We glorify entrepreneurship online, but when it’s our own blood taking the risk we hesitate.
 
We call it guidance but maybe it’s just fear disguised as protection.
 
Would you trust the process
or the system?

If your employees are used to taking care of their own problems, two things will happen:
 
1️⃣ They’ll get better at taking care of problems
Decision-making is a muscle.
And like any muscle it only grows with use.
 
The more decisions your team makes the sharper they get.
 
At first, they’ll second-guess themselves.
They’ll look for validation before acting.
But slowly, they’ll begin to understand the company’s goals, priorities, and principles.
 
That’s when the real shift happens 
 
They stop waiting for instructions, and start taking initiative.
They don’t walk into your office for answers.
They walk in with solutions.
 
That’s how ownership is built.
 
Not through job titles or training manuals but through practice.
 
2️⃣ You’ll learn who’s built for leadership and who’s not
Every time an employee brings you a question, you get a peek inside how they think.
 
You see how they analyze problems.
 
What they prioritize under pressure.
 
Whether they think about themselves or the business.
 
And this is priceless data.
 
Because over time, you’ll start seeing patterns:
- Who can’t make a decision without being told what to do.
- Who avoids responsibility when things go wrong.
- Who overcomplicates simple problems.
- Who makes quick, clear, confident calls.
 
You’ll learn who not to trust with major decisions and who deserves to be promoted into them.
 
I’ve always believed in promoting from within.
 
Because by the time someone earns that role, I already know how their mind works.
 
I’ve seen them think through real problems not hypothetical interview questions.
 
3️⃣ And then something miraculous happens
Roughly 20% of your people will stand out.
Not because they’re louder, or more experienced
but because they think right.
 
They weigh consequences.
They anticipate second-order effects.
They think in systems, not tasks.
 
Those are the ones you can trust to make decisions for you.
 
The ones who don’t just execute  they build judgment.
 
That’s when you know your leadership is working because the business starts making smart decisions even when you’re not in the room.

Your life and your business can change in a single decision.
 
Not next month
Not when things “settle down.”
But the moment you decide that this is Day 1 not “one day.”
 
Day #1 of changing everything that’s been slowing me down.
Day #1 of showing up with purpose, not pressure.
Day #1 of rebuilding my agency with clarity not chaos.
Day #1 of betting on myself like there’s no backup plan.
Day #1 of actually living the freedom I used to only talk about.
 
I think for me as an agency owners, it’s easy to..
Always creating for others, rarely pausing to check if you still feel aligned.
 
You convince yourself you’re BUSY building..
but sometimes, you’re just avoiding bold decisions.
 
And I’ve had enough of that.
 
This isn’t one day.
This is Day f***ing One.
 
The switch from surviving to owning it.
The moment where comfort ends and clarity begins.

This year, I changed in ways I didn’t post about.

I don’t even know how to begin this one.

Every year around my birthday, I sit down to reflect - not on the highlights, but on what the year really was.

2024 was tough.
It was full of internal battles, self-doubt, and days that tested every bit of my patience.

2025 has been about finding peace and building.
Building my business, my team, and my own version of balance (if that even exists).

It wasn’t glamorous.
There were 15-hour workdays, sleepless nights, and the constant juggle of running an agency while completing my MBA.

But there were also quiet wins - taking my family on vacation, watching my team grow, and creating something I once only dreamed of.

There were moments I felt behind.
Moments I compared my path to everyone else’s.

But then there were the small, grounding moments - when I looked back and thought,
“I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.”

So as I turn 26, I’m not wishing for success or speed.
I’m wishing for stillness.
For clarity.
For the courage to keep chasing what feels right, even if it takes time.

This year, I’m not celebrating milestones.
I’m celebrating the mindset that got me here - the version of me that fought quietly, built slowly, and still found a way to smile through it all.

Here’s to 26 and to the journey that keeps shaping me. 🤍
