Hi, I’m Lucas. I was born on the 11th of June 2000 in Antwerp. Two months later I moved to Djibouti living there with my family. My dad always wanted to work there, so the whole family moved. I spend the first six years of my life discovering the beauty of Africa. I lived in Djibouti, Rwanda, Benin, and Ghana. Thanks to this, I have been able to see and experience amazing things at a young age. When I turned six, we moved back to Antwerp. A few years later, after graduating from high school, I rediscovered my passion for traveling and I bought my first camera (2018). I love discovering the beautiful nature our planet has to offer, interacting with different cultures, and observing wildlife. I think traveling opens people's perspectives and inspires people, especially entrepreneurs. So far, at the age of 23, I have visited +50 countries, but one day I'll do a world tour. After documenting my travels, my passion for photography and videography grew more and more. I started upgrading my equipment and used every cent I made to finance my camera gear, while still studying for my Bachelor's. My passion quickly became a profession and now I can proudly call myself the founder of LUCAS MARINUS, a media production company. I studied Business & Engineering at the University of Antwerp, followed by a Master's in Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Esade in Barcelona, combining it with my work as a media producer. Since a very young age, my dream was never to be a football player or a fireman. Instead of pursuing these professions, I dreamt of becoming a successful businessman. And more specifically a founder of a startup! I have always had a big interest in startups, their founders, and their stories. As a kid, I worked on multiple projects and I always enjoyed doing that (e.g. I created my field hockey brand when I was 15). Next to that, I have also been heavily involved in sports, especially field hockey. As a player, but also as a trainer & coach: I trained and coached players (youth and adults) for 9 years (started when I was 13). Now, I'm reimagining the way the world learns and contributing to building a legacy company, at Sana.
