I have had a #squiggleycareer. Working in retail/hospitality/education/recruitment/customer service, account management, partnerships and now Head of Education for a Data Consultancy. I started off as an actress and with the experience I have gained in the theatre, certainly has held me in good stead. Building a business in a business was a brand new challenge for me. And the art of improvisation, the resilience required to literally pull things off when a whole load of 'thing' go wrong has equipped me to find solutions to problems in a heartbeat. Right now I am working with young people that are working for their MSc in Data Science and Internet of Things. I facilitate their 3 month industry live placement. I work with Universities and a plethora of different industries to align bright minds within the data industry. My education programme is called Nurture and my favorite tag line is it bridges the gap between academia and industry. Working with academics is no mean feat! But I love the challenge! I am chief cheerleader for The university of Salford . Why do I like working with them so much? Again it's all about the people. I have worked with the Programme lead Professor Mo Saraee since the beginning and now I am an Honorary Industry Lecturer. 🙌My main aim is to create opportunities for the students in the data industry. I do as much as possible to inspire and excite a curious mindset. I do this by: ✅Vising onsite ✅Organising webinars ✅Arranging entrepreneurial and awesome industry guest speakers ✅Creating course content ✅Conference speaker and Hackathon event creator. It's important we build our data teams with care. By doing the Nurture programme you are helping the next generation of bright minds.
