I know first-hand the emotional mangle that is fertility treatment: I spent a decade struggling to conceive. I went through 3 long, painful years of monthly negative pregnancy tests and avoiding IVF until I invested in support and got to a place of accepting and being excited that it could be my route to parenthood. And it worked on my first cycle aged 37. I then spent years navigating secondary infertility, male factor infertility, and pregnancy loss, and at age 41 I had my best-ever round of IVF (after being written off as too old and leaving it too late) which resulted in my beautiful rainbow twins.
