I am a neuroscience PhD with expertise in the areas of addiction, motivational aspects of depression, pain and spinal cord injury, emotional learning and memory, and more recently have investigated how our brains perceive important information. I enjoy teaching and have earned a credential in "Advanced Effective College Instruction" by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) and the American Council on Education (ACE). I am fluent in Spanish and currently learning American Sign Language (ASL). My aim is to pursue a career as a neuroscience MSL in order to facilitate communication between scientists and health-care professionals, as well as improve pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical devices for patient care.
