In the last 5 years of my career I've seen Dell become the largest privately owned company in the world, then Dell went on to acquire EMC in the largest tech merger ever! What a journey of constant change it has been and valuable lessons learnt from working with the Western Cape's elite corporate \ academic customers and channel partners as a DellEMC solutions specialist.

A special mention has to be made in terms of my contribution to the largest super compute platform in Africa known as Lengua which is seTswana for Cheetah...1300 DellEMC tightly coupled DellEMC compute nodes that will hopefully one day enable our researchers to find the cure for modern diseases or predict future weather patterns with greater accuracy...

Although a great love for technology still exists with a strong interest in Hybrid\Public cloud platforms underpinned by distributed computing architectures, I have to admit I've also learnt the art of self motivation, account management, sales and many other softer skills that I'm sure will hold me in good stead with future endeavors.

Looking ahead, we are living in very exciting times and with the dawn of Big data, Cloud, Artificial intelligence\Machine learning there is no place I'd rather be than at the forefront of technology!

I was responsible for the support\maintenance\expansion of the Intel Environment at Truworths which encompasses All Microsoft, Novell and VMWARE server platforms. I had 3 brilliant engineers reporting to me that make this massive responsibility manageable. Role also includes server hardware procurement and vendor relations management. Current role highlights include project co-ordinating our VMWARE Evolution initiatives, upgrade to Active Directory 2008 R2 as well as the ongoing migration from the legacy Novell platform to Microsoft ie File&Print, DNS, DHCP.
