If you are an Entrepreneur who is balancing a busy work and family schedule, working with StoneCastle can help you free up more time to enjoy life. If you are looking to delegate a portion of your portfolio, or you want an additional investment management style that is specialized, sophisticated and unique (not the traditional cookie cutter approach used by asset gathers) exploring next steps would make sense. If you want direct contact with the portfolio manager who is actually making decisions on your investments, reach out to set up a quick 15 minute meeting. Email me at: [email protected] to coordinate a convenient time. https://calendly.com/bruce-elg I am grateful to live and work in Kelowna and throw myself into everything the city and surrounding area has to offer. With my wife Melanie, and two active boys we participate in many sports and activities including, hockey, golf, skiing and mountain biking. Beyond athletics, I sit on the board of TSX-V listed Decisive Dividend and help to manage our family foundation. Our firm uses a disciplined top down and bottom up process to manage investment portfolios. The top down process helps us to determine if we are on Offence or Defence at any time. When on Offence we are fully invested, but at times when our indicators guide us we move to Defence where capital preservation is important and we hold significant levels of cash and short positions. The bottom up process helps us to determine what we are going to invest in. We begin with a scientific approach and use technology to help us identify companies who are experiencing accelerated earnings growth. The second part of the bottom up process is identifying when is the correct time to invest in the company. We use several tools to determine whether supply or demand is in control of a company's stock. When all the criteria we are looking for are positive, we invest in the company. Investors have a tough time selling. How many investors do you know have owned a stock that went up, they were sitting on a large profit, only to hold the stock and have it drop to a loss. We use a discipline approach to help avoid this emotional situation. As the top down, fundamental or technical picture changes on a company's stock, we take action and sell the stock. We are just as disciplined sellers as we are buyers.
