Things I Wish LinkedIn Would Change, Bring Back & Add...

CHANGE:

- Stop showing me posts from two weeks ago. If Jane Doe went to an event in 1978, I’m happy for her, but I don’t need a reminder every Monday morning.

- Groups. Please. End them. They’re like abandoned shopping malls, echo chambers with “SALE” signs still hanging. I have not seen one group that actually works. Zero engagement. (BTW, I’ve got a 3K-member ghost town if anyone’s in the market https://lnkd.in/g53HGc-Q Free...just take it from me pls, first come first serve)

- The inbox. Let’s be real, it’s not an inbox, it’s a scavenger hunt meets the rabbit hole. Give us Gmail, not a Escape Room: Professional Edition.

- Congratulations spam. Work anniversaries, birthdays, dog’s cousin’s graduation… LinkedIn, it’s not Facebook in 2010. I hate my birthday on LinkedIn, I get 100's of messages and it's impossible to delete them. 

- Endorsements. They feel like they were built in 1980 and never updated. Nobody has ever gotten a job because someone endorsed them for “Microsoft Paint.”


BRING BACK

- Stories. Those were like IG Stories’ nerdy cousin. Quick, fun, and gone before you could regret posting.

- Events tab visibility. Why must I dig through three layers of menus just to find something happening tomorrow?

ADD

- Dark mode. My eyes, LinkedIn. My eyes.

- Real analytics — not just “someone in Canada looked at your profile.” Give me the good stuff. You want to charge me, so do it...you know you want to:)

- A “virtual coffee” auto-scheduler. One click, Zoom link pops up. Done. No more back-and-forth DMs that end up moving to email anyway.
