This was my first full time marketing role, and I have progressed from novice to competent marketer. My role including: 

- Running UK and European wide campaigns 
- Blog strategy and creation 
- SEO, CRO, analytics and lead generation 
- Email marketing 
- Strategy creation and implementation 
- Podcast management and creation 
- Project management 
- Social media management 
- Two websites that I manage and maintain 
- Case study management and creation 
- Vlog creation 
- Workflow creation and implementation
- Achieved a Level 6 CIM digital marketing qualification

This is by no means an exhaustive list of my roles and responsibilities, however this demonstrates what I do, and have done over my two years at Penguins.

Marketing Executive

HM Land Registry

My primary job role is business administration of land registration, however within this position I have developed skills as public speaking and project management; I have gained fire warden and health and safety qualifications. My position is mainly computer based, therefore I have a vast knowledge of many computer programs also I have studied under the internet support team and am able to offer IT support to my colleagues. I was also employee engagement officer and responsibility for quality in my team.

Business Administration Apprentice and Registration Officer

ACTIVE CUBS LIMITED

The organisation had no marketing budget. Therefore, I offered my services on a purely voluntary basis. I managed the Active Cubs social media channels including Facebook and Twitter. I wrote a weekly blog based around sports, wellying and healthy eating.

Journalist/Editor

Direct Repairs Ltd

I supported Direct Repairs with their marketing on a voluntary basis, specifically email marketing, brand awareness, social media management and campaign creation.

Marketing Assistant

Clinic20

This organisation had no marketing budget, therefore I offered my services on a purely voluntary basis to help gain experience and aid my Level 4 CIM qualification. During my time at Clinic20 I grew the social media following by 110%, hosted a promotion event, created a marketing strategy and won the business new clients.

Marketing Consultant

For the past three years, I have been working to hone my marketing skills, but I didn't begin my journey in the most conventional way. Deciding against university, I took the road less travelled. 

After realising that marketing was my passion and wanting to pursue it as a career, I self-funded a Level 4 CIM course, whilst working full-time. While I was learning the marketing basics I wanted to put my new skills to the test, therefore I decided to offer my services for free to small businesses in the Derbyshire area. I specialised in:
- Strategy creation 
- Social media management 
- Copyright/content creation 
- Branding
This offered me a valuable insight into many different industries such as: sports, health & beauty, music and media. 

With a qualification and a years experience under my belt I decided to begin the search for my first marketing job. This involved a lot of cover letters, CVs, research and calls. I was successful and secured a role at Penguins, a DRPG company. Throughout my time at Penguins I have run numerous campaigns, including a European campaign, I have created a podcast, I have co-managed two websites, have had articles published in European CEO and other publications, and have become fluent in social media marketing, SEO, email marketing, strategy and content creation, analytics, project management and much more. In 2020, I completed a Level 6 CIM course in Professional Digital Marketing. 

Most recently I have created an online community, plug. The idea behind plug. is to help young marketers develop themselves and allow them an easier marketing journey than I have had. I not only want to share what I have learnt, but I want fellow young marketers to share their own knowledge and experiences.
