Since I was a little kid, I liked talking to people, exchanging ideas and doing everything to make everyone around me happier. Wandering into unknown, exploring the different cultures of the world, and making people enjoy my hostmanship were key factors that made me choose a career in hospitality industry. My career is just starting and in following text I will explain what I already did to make it take off. I successfully completed a bachelor study of Tourism in 2021 at the university of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies. I believe that someone who sees himself working in tourism needs international experience in order to be able to cater to guests from all around the world. Therefore, I took part in an Erasmus+ exchange at Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, where I successfully completed the Tourism Business module. To expand on the knowledge I gained there, I continued with a master study at NHL Stenden’s International Hospitality and Service Management Master programme as I believed it pointed me in the right direction in order to become a successful manager when the time comes. I have previous student work experiences as a waiter in a boutique restaurant and in a casino. They taught me how to interact with guests in a real-life environment, how to satisfy their needs and how to adapt to unexpected situations in order to make the guests happy. Through different F&B related roles that I executed since my graduation I acquired a broad knowledge of hotel operations and the importance of transparency, honesty and hard work which are the essentials of my daily routine and something that I strive to consistently show in my current role as a restaurant manager of De Japanner Zuid which is a part of Crowne Plaza Amsterdam – South hotel. To achieve my life goal of becoming a true hospitality leader, I am striving to continuously increase my knowledge of the industry and my ability to cope with consistently changing environment.
