He now shares his knowledge on this amazing sugar replacement sweetener and seeks to help others on their health and life journeys.

A Silent Saboteur: Sucralose 
 
The human desire for sweets is rooted in our survival. Sugar is the purest energy available to us. It offers the quickest source of energy for physical activity and brain function. 
 
The attempt to sacrifice pleasure from sweets for long term health is a well documented struggle.  
 
Enter Sucralose - the sugar substitute lurking in our diet, promising a guilt-free sweetness without the carb hit.  
 
But what if the quick fix was just as perilous?  What is the real cost? 
 
Here's where research steps in, unmasking some startling truths: 
 
1. Gut Health Erosion 
Studies unveil how sucralose is an undercover enemy to our gut bacteria. A 2022 investigation with 120 human subjects revealed alarming alterations in gut microbiome post exposure to sucralose - even dosages below our daily limit. 
 
2. Unstable Blood Sugar 
A breakthrough 2013 study highlighted sucralose's potential in disrupting glucose and insulin balance, throwing blood sugar management off-course. 
 
3. Cooking with a Catch 
Turn up the heat (anything above 350 degrees) with sucralose and you might be welcoming a wave of carcinogenic chemicals. 
 
4. Sweetness-triggered Appetite Surge 
A 2021 study flagged a correlation between sucralose consumption, increased cravings and higher calorie intake in women and people battling obesity; quite the opposite of what we sign up for with sugar substitutes. 
 
So here's the question: If we can’t (or won’t) give up sugar, is sucralose really a healthier alternative?  
 
For me, it all comes down to the old adage “everything in moderation”.   
 
While the downsides of excess sugar is well documented and include higher blood pressure, inflammation, weight gain, diabetes, and fatty liver disease, which are all linked to an increased risk for heart attack and stroke, we have to focus on the key word “excess” 
 
Instead of artificial sweeteners such as sucralose, I prefer small amounts of natural sugar or alternatives like monk fruit or stevia.  And even though some argue that there is a flavor compromise with these natural alternatives (while I don’t agree) I think it’s a small sacrifice to make.

Hi, my name is Malcolm and I am a workaholic.
The upside of my career/job/position is that I can work from
anywhere with wifi and my laptop/phone.
The downside of my career/job/position is that I can work from
anywhere with wifi and my laptop/phone.
I don't know how to turn it off, yet I have been working 
[no pun intended] to focus more on my wife and kids over the past few years.
I visited my son in Greece last month and while exploring and spending
time with him, I was still connecting with customers and making sales.
Nothing like discussing Monk Fruit options on Mount Olympus [like
the real one].
I must be doing something right when my son called me at 8:30 am EST
and said "Dad, thank you. I love you and appreciate everything you do.
You are a really good dad!"
Happy dance in my head :)
What a way to start the day!
I am sharing this as there were and are so many times that I beat myself up for not being able to attend a birthday party or a kid's activity because I am traveling or at a show. I guess when I am home, I am present enough to give everyone enough attention.
Be present as often as you can. Your kids will [eventually] appreciate it.

Other than NY/NJ, what are the large food and beverage manufacturing 
hubs on the east coast?
I ask as I have been a life long resident of New Jersey and I am tired of
this weather, the congestion, the taxes, etc. - I want a change of environment.
The beauty of my position/career is that I can literally work from anywhere
as long as I have a laptop and a phone.
When I move [won't be this year.. well, perhaps depending on the results in November], I want somewhere warm [and NO SNOW!] and in a place that 
I can continue rocking and rolling as the Monk Fruit Guy!

What a day at WNYIFT 2024!
Saw some old friends like Michael Grenner and Irene Steg, MBA.
(And many others, too many to list here, so don’t take offense if you aren’t mentioned yet chime in and say hi in the comments!)
Celebrate the conclusion of the show with Phil D'Eramo and Vijay Dhanraj as well as others.
The beauty of today’s show was the opportunity to have concrete discussions about product, usage, and most importantly, why.
The why is the essence to our business. I met Delbra Brown today.
She and I discussed her line of tea concentrates (which are pretty darn good if I say so myself).
Her why is to help diabetics have a sweet and delicious tea without the sugar. 
That’s why we do what we do.
To help others.
That’s the why many of us out here have.
Side note, she came up to me at the end of the show and thanked me.
I said you’re welcome but why?
She answered that many treats or snacks that have artificial sweeteners give her painful headaches within a few minutes of consuming them. It had been an hour since she tried our Monk Fruit/Allulose sweetened gummies and she was happy to share that she was feeling great.
So of course I offered her a few more.

Thank you all for enabling me to do what I love. To have the opportunity to help others.

The very unfortunate accident has short term and long term consequences.

Short term: the unfortunate loss/deaths of at least 6 people as the bridge collapsed, 
a complete closure of the port of Baltimore, and a complete change in traffic patterns 
for trucks and cars.

Long term: months to years until the bridge is rebuilt, an eventual re-opening of the 
Port, and traffic being restored one day.

In the interim, sugar prices will escalate significantly in the short term and the already 
negatively affected shipping delays have now increased.

It will be a challenging 2024 for all of us on many levels.
The goal now is for all of us to help each other navigate these difficult times.

Politics, politics, politics..
I am sitting in my town council’s meeting right now.
It’s interesting to hear local politicians talk and share versus state and federal politicians. 
The local feel and connections make such a huge difference. When one can relate to their local leaders and community members, it makes life that much better.
I am an advocate for connecting with one’s fellow community members. Be vocal and most importantly, get active. Volunteer and help out - that enables us to cross political, religious, and business lines and make life better.

While I find the whole eclipse thing silly.. kudos on this simple yet effective marketing campaign.
