United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth

I used to run a small focus group at the united nation's major group of Children and Youth, It is the UN General Assembly-mandated, official, formal and self-organised space for children and youth (under 30) to contribute to and engage in certain intergovernmental and allied policy processes at the UN. 

We act as a bridge between young people and the UN system in order to ensure that their right to meaningful participation is realized. We do so by engaging formal and informal communities of young people, in the design, implementation, monitoring, follow-up, and review of sustainable development policies at all levels.

Electoral Demography is India has always been limited to the adult population owing to the dormant participation of young voters. If the Voice of Young People is to be heard at the top it is essential to get young people to actively exercise their franchise.

As we started working on getting the message to the shining young population of our country we uncovered a niche that was keeping young people out of polling booths. The electoral registration of migratory population in the cities was tedious and the registration mechanism demanded amends. 
We organized the first-ever online mass electoral enrolment camps in Colleges and Universities that successfully enrolled thousands of students to cast their vote for the first time. This still stands as an example of using technological tools and modern management techniques and a pinch of commitment to tackling the challenges of diverse democracy and our electoral system.
