Leading the digital IT team for North Asia and SAPMENA. Responsible for eCommerce, Social Commerce, Websites, Digital Services, Innovation, content management & CRM

Heading up the Beauty Tech Accelerator, Shanghai Innovation Hub working on Data Science driven use cases which are scalable and strategic. We have three hubs around the world, the others being in Paris & New York.

Managing 50+ internal FTE across multiple regions + partner delivery teams.

L'Oreal has three tech accelerator hubs around the world located in Paris, Shanghai and New York. The hubs are part of the Global Team and are geographically placed to work with all markets and entities around the world.

I am responsible for building & leading the Shanghai Hub. This has included hiring the team & creating the physical office as well.

The team's core purpose is to be a catalyst for tech transformation by working on Data Science/AI-Driven use cases that are innovative, strategic, disruptive, and have the ability to be scaled across regions.

In this role, I have the pleasure of working with people across all areas of the business and all levels of the organisation. 

This is a strategic, innovative & transformational role to play a part in helping L'Oreal invent the future of beauty while becoming the company of the future.

Director | Beauty Tech Accelerator - AI, Transformation, Innovation

I started the build-up of the regional digital IT team & function in the Asia Pacific region. The core purpose was to scale global digital programs across Asia pacific markets in rapid speed & quality to help L'Oreal reach its 20% eCommerce ambitions.

Together with my HR team, I helped to attract, hire and retain many talents into the team. Together we delivered many great projects and programs. The programs focused on new websites, and beauty services leveraging AI, PIM DAM and Data & Analytics.

The key highlights would be:
1. Developed and executed strategy to launch and operate 35 Salesforce Commerce Cloud Websites and 65+ Sitecore websites across 14 APAC markets.

2. Built a digital IT architecture function + site speed and analytics team.

3. Developed strategies to ensure robust operations to upgrade and enhance websites quickly and in a cost-effective manner across multiple countries.

4. Developed and delivered the implementation of the global PIM DAM solution in the Asia Pacific Zone. The solution was using Salsify and Open Text.

5. Sat on the global innovation board in L’Oreal to represent the Asia Pacific region.

It was a tremendous 5 years with lots of great deliveries of projects and programs.

2011 - 2012 - Worked on shaping the international E-Commerce program. Taking the lead on the Asia strategy. 

2012 - 2015
- Relocated to Shanghai.
- Lead the IT delivery of the M&S China Online business working closely with the Global Operations Director to build the business from ground zero to a team of 20.
- Lead the IT deliver & business activities to launch picking from retail store from scratch. Lead the idea from concept to realisation.
- Lead the delivery of concept to realisation for selling food online on TMall and JD.Com.
- Took on additional roles as a side job such as Trading Manager for the online food site in China.

Played a key roll in developing the international sourcing processes with Tesco. Worked closely with buying teams in the UK, Hong Kong and Shanghai to understand the needs along the supply chain.

Helped develop a standard product into something which was used by hundreds of users at the time within the company.

I moved from the UK to China in 2012, and I have lived in Shanghai throughout my time in China. 

I am experienced working in major FMCG and Retail organisations, where I have led programs across different spectrums of the business. Including Data, AI, New Tech, Digital, Retail, Omnichannel + building and leading major and complex transformation programs.

0 to 1 transformation expert. I have successfully built up amazing teams and new functions from scratch. I enjoy helping my teams grow, develop and excel in their careers.

I have the ability and resilience to deal with complex work environments and enjoy working with different people of all backgrounds and cultures. 

I have global delivery experience and experience managing large globally dispersed teams of internal FTE and partners. I am currently managing 50+ internal FTE across multiple regions + partner delivery teams.
