At Friends Provident I worked on a part time basis and was responsible for defining/testing and implementing a cost capture and reporting application. This project included working with various stakeholders including the IT and marketing function.

During this time, I also starting working as a independant business coach and created the Business Clarity brand.

In my capacity of finance manager, I was responsible for the production of the monthly management accounts including the cashflow forecast and managed a team of 6 members of staff including the sales and purchase ledger, stock, payroll and the treasury function.

In addition I was responsible for preparing the annual balance sheet reconciliations, Vat return and year end statutory accounts.

I had a overall responsibility for the finance function and reported to the finance director.

The role required working with senior scientists and technical manager's on a regular basis.
