Executive Director Digital and Cognitive Solutions - The LINE

As Head of Infrastructure, I reported to the CEO and my mandate included: Technology & Digital, Energy, Mobility, Water and Data Protection - my principal activity involved the administration and drafting of policies regarding these areas.
I led the drafting of the NEOM-wide Data Strategy and overall Digital Master Plan
I drove due diligence on cross-sector investments, such as space-energy crossovers and sustainable infrastructure
I led proof-of-concepts on emerging technologies such as Quantum and Neuromorphic computing, Metaverses, Avatar Robotics, AGI and Haptics.

Head of Infrastructure

Responsible for all R&D activities for the Technology & Digital sector at NEOM. This includes Space, Robotics, Sustainable Infrastructure, Digital Master Plans, Digital Experience Platforms and Mixed Reality. I led our collaborative research activities with local and global Universities and Research institutions.

Executive Director Emerging Technologies

I managed the early procurement and rollout of the NEOM network infrastructure including the 5G Pilot, 5G Deployment, Fiber network, Subsea Cables. I also set up the Emerging Tech and Robotics forums.

Ensures Ofcom remains at the forefront of understanding existing technology and the latest technological developments in the telecoms and media sectors both in the UK and internationally, and in particular:
   
 Leads on Ofcom’s growing role in the assurance and investigation relating to the cyber security of stakeholders in the sectors regulated by Ofcom. 
 
 Acts as the lead for engagement with CTOs at Ofcom stakeholders as well as through industry bodies and with Government. 
 
 Is a member of the Policy and Management Board (the decision-making body at executive level)

o	Led BT’s research into fixed and mobile networks, to drive convergence across research initiatives and shape the future of the BT converged network: leadership of a team of 45 researchers and engineers
o	Key research topics included: 5G, NfV and SDN, 4G-Advanced and WiFi mobile architectures, Core optical networking, Quantum Technologies, Airborne solutions and Satellite communications, Virtualized multi-host small cells, Fixed-Wireless, V2X and NbIoT 
o	Participated in numerous collaborative research projects, including Innovate UK, EPSRC and European projects (H2020). 
o	Established strong working relationships with key senior leaders in BT Group and other MNOs, leading academic institutions and international standards bodies 
o	Closely involved in supporting the DCMS 5G Testbeds in Bristol, Surrey and KCL and led BT’s participation in 3 of the DCMS Phase 1 5G collaborative trials  
o	Provided regular inputs to regulatory and policy teams and public consultations, including regarding ECC, National Infrastructure Commission, DCMS 5G strategy and Rail and Road connectivity
o	Led BT’s inputs to the Telecom Infra Project (TIP), including on vRAN Fronthaul and E2E Network Slicing – regular contributions to the TIP Board (which includes Facebook, Vodafone, Telefonica, DT, Nokia and Intel)
