I am an entrepreneurial marketing professional with a particular interest in business start-ups and direct-to-consumer brands. Having founded and grown two direct-to-consumer businesses, I understand what it takes to create sustainable impactful growth, shape brands through storytelling and drive an incredible customer experience. I am a thought leader with a passion for continuous learning and development. I have a high level of business acumen and enjoy strategy formulation and execution. I am data-driven with a key focus on sustainable, profitable business growth. I spent my early career founding the UK’s first video game rental subscription service (SwapGame.com) and growing this to be the leader in its niche. Throughout this journey I had the privilege of securing major commercial partnerships (Game Group PLC), dealing with leading venture capitalists (Sussex Place Ventures) as well as acquisition discussions with CEOs and founders of leading technology companies - LoveFilm (William Reeve, Saul Klein). In 2013 I founded a mobile phone/iPad case accessory company (Kujali Design Collective) with giving at its core. For every protective case we sold, we funded a mosquito net to protect a child in Africa from malaria. Through product-led storytelling, the brand sold thousands of cases and successfully supplied mosquito nets to protect children in Ugandan orphanages from malaria. I exited the business in 2014 following a trade sale. Since then I have helped numerous local businesses grow using digital marketing whilst also leading the marketing activity for our family business (LoveBallet Dance Company) establishing it as the leading dance school in the local area. More recently I have joined the team at Growth Shop helping them to scale some of the world’s fastest D2C businesses with skin in the game. Recent successes include scaling a U.S mattress brand from $1m-$68m ARR in 9 months. I now head up CRM for the consumer division of Gelato where we are bringing customer segmentation and personalisation to over 1m customers across 21 locales.
