Mapa de la generación y el transporte de electricidad en España* 🇪🇸 

Las líneas de transporte de MAT (400 kV, 220 kV) conectan los nodos de generación (representados en diferentes tamaños según la potencia instalada y en diferentes colores según la tecnología de generación) con los grandes núcleos de consumo, equilibrando territorios productores con zonas de alta demanda.

La generación solar y eólica, de carácter distribuido, ha experimentado un fuerte incremento en los últimos años. Su expansión está configurando un escenario con alta penetración renovable, pero la red sigue necesitando el respaldo de las centrales síncronas (nuclear, hidráulica y gas), que son las únicas capaces de:

〰️ aportar inercia al sistema, estabilizando la frecuencia de red (50 Hz).

⚡️absorber o inyectar potencia reactiva, contribuyendo al control de la tensión.

Aunque en el mapa todavía aparecen reflejadas varias centrales de carbón, muchas ya no están activas o se encuentran en proceso de cierre y desmantelamiento: un reflejo claro de la transición energética en marcha.
