Cloud Platforms Engineer

Produced Infrastructure (e.g. Low-Level designs and implementations) whilst leading the pursuit of NetDevOps models through automation on underlying Cisco UC Infrastructure technologies. Consequently, reducing time-to-market and OPEX across our business unit.

Key achievements:
- Implemented GitLab CI pipelines-as-code for Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections while automatically deploying Cisco IOS/ASA/NX-OS configuration changes to over 50 core production devices and 12k edge CPEs (Customer-premises Equipment)

- Improved customer onboarding experience onto a Middleware platform via scripting tasks in Python, Bash, and VMware vRO.

- Responsible for enabling future infrastructure as code empowering engineers by utilizing Terraform and other key containerization & orchestration technologies (Docker compose and Kubernetes) in VMware and AWS.

- Leveraged Ansible tower and GitLab to produce a resilient, automatic (literally 2-click), user-friendly solution to upgrade Cisco IOS devices. Markdown reports and the device running-config. get stored on a restricted GitLab repository that gets auto-updated every time an Ansible job runs. Further implication on costs savings in the order of hundreds of thousands of Euros.

Infrastructure Design Engineer: Virtualisation, Cloud and Network

Leveraging in-depth technical troubleshooting for Nimble’s SAN storage solution/s. Working closely with customer complex issues related to integrating VMware, Linux and Microsoft technologies. Addressing hardware failures, no-downtime software updates and customer expectations to meet Disaster Recovery deployments.

Key achievements:
 - Been an active member of Case Efficiency vertical which mainly aimed to automate manual processes via Perl and Python Scripting routines. Thus, by designing complex SQL statements to run against Vertica DBs and Microsoft SQL engines.

 - Led Networking and Containerisation L3 complex technical support cases in the EMEA region.

 - Performed well under pressure while successfully maintaining outstanding customer satisfaction during my entire customer interaction. Thanks to my great communication skills by providing in-depth technical expertise and great advice for achieving maximum performance out of Fiber Channel || iSCSI Nimble Storage SAN arrays following best practices.

Designing, developing and deploying a variety of IT solutions for a hybrid environment based on on-premise (VMWare) and public cloud (AWS) infrastructures, mainly focused on reducing Cost-To-Server (over $85k in overall).
