To master it, you must create an obligation to teach it.

Being able to simplify an idea and successfully share it with others is both the path to understanding it and the proof that you do. One of the ways we mask our lack of understanding of any idea is by using more words, bigger words, and unnecessary words.

This challenge of simplifying an idea to its essence is often referred to as the Feynman technique, named after Richard Feynman. He had a gift for explaining the most complex, baffling ideas in simple language that even a child could understand.

Here's my take on the technique:

✅ Step 1: Learn
First, you must identify the topic you want to understand, research it thoroughly, and grasp it from every direction.

✅ Step 2: Teach it to a child
Secondly, write the idea down as if you were teaching it to a child; use simple words, fewer words, and simple concepts.

✅ Step 3: Share it
Convey your idea to others; post it online, share it on stage, or even at the dinner table. Choose any medium where you’ll get clear feedback.

✅ Step 4: Review it
Review the feedback; did people understand the concept from your explanation? Can they explain it to you after you’ve explained it to them? If not, go back to step 1; if they did, move on.

Your consistency will further your progress, the feedback will refine your skill, and following this will lead to mastery.

“Why Gossip Should Stay Unsaid”

Gossip, oh gossip – it's a topic that's as intriguing as it is ubiquitous. Why do people have such a strong tendency to gossip and why do we find ourselves drawn to gossip like moths to a flame? 

I believe that gossiping often stems from a basic human desire for social connection and belonging. Sharing information about others can serve as a form of social bonding, helping individuals feel closer to one another by creating a sense of shared knowledge and understanding. In a way, gossip can act as a social glue, strengthening social bonds within a group or community.

Gossiping can provide individuals with a sense of power or control. By sharing information about others, individuals may feel a temporary boost in their own status or importance within their social circle. It's a way of asserting influence and establishing one's place within the group hierarchy.

And it can be inherently stimulating and entertaining. There's a certain thrill that comes with being privy to juicy information or scandalous tales about others. It taps into our natural curiosity and provides a form of entertainment, albeit at the expense of others' privacy or reputation.

However, despite these potential motivations, it's important to recognize the negative consequences of gossiping. While it may provide temporary social benefits or entertainment, gossiping can also lead to hurt feelings, damaged relationships, and a toxic social environment. Ultimately, it's essential to strive for empathy, integrity, and respect in our interactions with others, rather than succumbing to the allure of gossip.

Before you speak, think: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

Happy are those who realize that they are everything. 

One cannot be totally free from anger. 

It will come when there is sufficient cause. 

All one can do is to see that there is anger. It helps if one can see that people are suffering. 

See how much you hurt yourself when you are upset. It's not worth getting upset over anything. 

I always see anger only as anger. Don't say you should not be angry. 

It is imperative to be realistic. 

10/04/2024, the date of my birthday, I ponder the significance of the day, inspired by the wise words of Mark Twain. 

He once said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” 

After the loss of my uncle, I discovered my purpose and channeled it into my latest book, Sorrowful Wharf.

I aspire for future generations to carry on the values of love, kindness, and positivity that I have instilled. 

May my actions and words be a beacon of guidance for others, and may my legacy continue to inspire those who know me. 

Change cannot be achieved simply by thinking about it; it must be actively created.
