•        Providing legal advice and support on everything happening on web3.0, including NFT’s, cryptocurrencies, the metaverse, digital payments and DeFi.

•        Liaising and communicating with government bodies and regulatory authorities.

•        Dealing with cross border trade finance transactions based on revolving credit facilities, negotiating and drafting facility and security documentation. 
•        Negotiating transactions including multi-currency syndicated receivables purchase/factoring facilities and wholesale finance transactions in over 65 countries including the Middle East.This involves working with local counsel to identify legal challenges regarding enforceability of the agreements under local laws.

•        Key adviser in the area for of UK and EU financial regulation affecting UK banking operation (predominantly Treasury activities) including MiFID II and the Benchmarks Regulation;

•        Advising senior stakeholders including Execs Directors and Committees in relation to legal risk management and on the underpinning legislation and case law.

•        Drafting and negotiating complex legal agreements including but not limited; high value finance and security documents, supplier agreements, consumer credit contracts, IT service and confidentiality agreements.

•        Managing legal disputes initiated by or against Ford Credit, gathering and reviewing of factual data, supervising and coordinating with outside counsel, determining litigation efforts required and including seeking and negotiating out of court settlements where possible aligned with corporate ethics and company objectives.

•        Proactively keeping abreast of relevant statutory legislation and regulatory requirements in different jurisdictions where Ford Credit is doing business 

Key achievements

•        Lead lawyer working on the biggest transaction of recent times for the sale of Ford National Sales Company to a Swedish automotive group. This included among other things the negotiation of complex factoring arrangements for new financing.

•        Lead lawyer advising on the implementation of the E commerce platform to fund the new Ford Mach-E electric vehicle on line

•        Advising the business in relation to wholesale transactions, Consumer credit requirements and Compliance.
•        Providing legal advice and support to corporate functions, including HR, Tax, Sales, Marketing Operations and Finance.
•        Advising the business on refinancing and related issues and on the implications in case of the borrower insolvency.
•        Overseeing retail and wholesale litigation and liaising with external legal counsel when necessary.
•        Holding regular meetings with the Managing Director and other senior stakeholder to discuss potential legal risks and to update on legal issues pertinent to the market’s daily operations.

Key achievements

•        Successfully leading the implementation of the new requirements under the GDPR for Iberia (Spain and Portugal ) Belgium and Luxembourg. Identifying all the relevant documentation that needed to be amended in and implementing changes where necessary. Advising the business on other operational changes needed in order to remain compliant with GDPR.

•        Worked with National Enforcement Bodies in Spain to obtain approval for the implementation of a new guarantee, regarding the non -possessory pledge over vehicles.This new security needed to be implemented across all the market with more than 100 dealers.
•        Sole counsel leading the project for the implementation of the e -signature for consumer credit agreements. 
•        I led the implementation of Brexit requirements for the business for Iberia, change of licence and amendment of agreements as necessary.
