But it wasn't linear growth.

Far from it.

- Phase 1 was full of testing, trial and error.
- Phase 2 was about doubling down on the winners.
- Phase 3 was about creating repeatable growth systems.
- Phase 4 was about testing the system with mentees, clients & the team.
- Phase 5 is teaching this system to you now.

Last month I hit 20k+ followers.

And no it wasn't a linear journey.  I grew much faster in the last 6 months.

And if I had to start over with just 200,
here’s exactly what I’d do and what I teach my clients:

👉 Find 3–5 key themes that are important to me.

From my work and life. That’s what makes content sustainable. Your personal brand is YOU.
Most things you really care about can be turned into strategic content.

👉 Use the 1-1-1 rule to start (weekly):

1 top-of-funnel post (story, hot take, milestone, free resource, trend)

1 middle-of-funnel post (tutorial, behind the scenes, lesson)

1 bottom-of-funnel post (case study, testimonial, how to work with me, paid offers)

If you don't have anything to promote, just focus on the first two (top and middle of funnel)

👉 Engage with others, but not just for the sake of it.

Let me be clear – post great content first. I focus on the content, because when you don't have time to engage, it still works for you.

But of course conversations in the comment section can be very effective. As a rule, only comment when you have something to say.

👉 Make lead magnets my growth accelerators.

Wrote a new landing page? Break down the process I followed and mistakes I made.

Built a new useful dashboard in Notion? Simplify and share it as Notion template.

You don't have to stay in 200 impressions jail forever.
You just need to follow the right steps and learn from what works.

For over a year, I’ve been reading it every Monday, coffee in hand, scrolling through the Berlin tech & startup world updates & curated highlights by the one and only Igor Ranc 🙏

Every edition also features recommendations from cool locals.

And when Igor reached out asking if I’d like to meet & share my recommendations, I was honestly a bit shocked and SO flattered hahah

Am I... a bit cool?! hahaha

We met and talked a lot about solopreneurship, community, and the ups & downs of building your own thing.

And I got to inspire Igor to give Notion a proper go - highlight of my year! 😏

Living in Berlin is incredible, because I get to meet inspiring, driven, smart enterpreneurs like him.

You may still think LinkedIn is a black box. 

And that we are all doomed because the algorithm doesn't push your content.

I don't think it's all that grim haha

Just finished reading the Q3 LinkedIn algorithm report by Will McTighe and Chris Donnelly.

It confirmed everything I've been teaching my clients about growing on LinkedIn.

Here are my 5 highlights:

1. Yes, it isn't easy to grow on LinkedIn - the reach is down across the board and there are more people posting. 

👉 You need to write expertise-led, opinionated and clear content to stand out.

2. Sharing pictures of you may feel cringe initially, but it builds trust.

👉 Don't overthink posting a selfie or picture of you with the post. This just lets people see who is behind the words and trust you more over time.

3. "10 tips for writing a blog post" carousels won't cut it anymore. You need to add storytelling and your expertise.

👉 Carousels are the best-performing content type. But they are built differently now, and can't be generic anymore. Add your opinion. Start with a story.

4. Longer posts (1250-3000 characters) with good formatting (plenty of whitespace and line breaks) perform better than short ones.

👉 Write as you speak. Always. Conversational, clear language wins over AI written corporate speak.

5. Personal Story hooks perform the best.

👉 This again highlights how people CRAVE personal connection, experience based non-generic content. Need I say more? :D

but with 

"you're wrong and here's why"

will we ever see it happen?! 😄

Why?

Because ChatGPT can give me 5 tips. 

The value that you should provide in the post is sharing:

- Why you think these 5 tips will help me based on your experience
- How these 5 tips helped your clients
- What happens when I follow these 5 tips in your opinion
- How you came up with these 5 tips
- Why I should listen to you

My message here is that your opinion, story and expertise are now THE MINIMUM.

You can't just post "5 tips" with no context.

We want to know why we should trust YOU, and the how and why behind your content.
The story behind it. The experience behind it.
