Manager, Events

Events include:
Scotiabank Pro-Am for Alzheimer's, Baycrest Pro-Am Hockey Hall of Fame, The Brain Project, Game Night, Games People Play, Dogs on the Catwalk

Responsibilities include:
•Efficiently and effectively managing all aspects of assigned events; including creating and ensuring adherence to event critical paths and budgets.
•Ensuring that assigned tasks given to staff and lay event volunteers are completed with the required quality and within timeliness.
•Create and manage event budgets, maintain a record of expenditure throughout each event project, including producing a Profit & Loss statement.  Find & implement creative ways to save costs and find efficiencies.
•Communicating with event committee members, participants and donors.
•Working with Financial Services to reconcile final accounting of each event.
•Write post event reports and recommending directional changes to strategy and planning year-over-year with the goal of increasing awareness and fundraising.
•Recommending and developing new initiatives for increasing fundraising potential as well as raise awareness of Baycrest.
•Working with the digital media team to create and implement unique event websites and social media plans that support assigned events.
•Identifying and meeting with prospective event sponsors, and developing customized solicitation and event benefit plans.
•Managing, negotiating and maintaining close relationships with event vendors to ensure agreement fulfilment.

Event Specialist

The annual Scotiabank Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s™ hockey tournament, in support of the Gordie & Colleen Howe Fund for Alzheimer’s at Baycrest, is the ultimate hockey experience for individuals aged 25 years and up. This one-of-a-kind event allows everyday hockey enthusiasts to team up with former NHL greats in the battle against Alzheimer’s and related dementias.  The event is comprised of 3 parts: the Gordie Howe & Friends Luncheon, the Draft Night Party, and the hockey tournament.

Responsibilities include:
•	Event Logistics:
o	Assist in the coordination of all event operations
•	Budget: 
o	Support in monitoring budget status throughout the year
o	Assist in finding creative ways to save costs and find efficiencies
o	Work with finance department to reconcile final accounting of each event 
•	Sponsorship
o	Communicate via phone and email with all sponsors to ensure obligations are met.  
o	Provided them with detailed info on event and set out expectations

Accomplishments:
•	Created a budget spreadsheet to help ensure accuracy that is now being used for all Foundation events.
•	Actively reduced the budget for most recent event
•	Identified issues with registration and streamlined the process to make it efficient
•	Created a meeting minute template that is now used for all internal & external meetings

Coordinator, Events

Interior Design Show (IDS)

Provided administrative support to sales staff and Vice President.  First line of contact with more than 300 exhibitors, 15 sponsors, and various suppliers.  Prepared proposals, presentations, sales packages, prepared over oversaw all show mailings, and co-ordinated internal and external meeting and expenses.  Hire, train, supervise temp staff and interns.

(Maternity Leave coverage) 
Took over some of the duties of the Operations Director during her   maternity leave.  Some tasks involved were:
• Identified and facilitated all show management orders with venue.
• Developed and maintained budget.
• Scheduled and facilitated meetings with special feature teams.
• Dealt with all exhibitor issues relating to the Interior Design Show.
• Liaised with event coordinator at venue (Direct Energy Centre).
