Conduct tax audits of taxpayers operating within the Gila River Indian Community.  Review tax returns for compliance with timely filing, payment and clerical accuracy.  Issue tax assessments for late filing, payment or clerical accuracy of tax returns.  Input tax return data into database.  Develop quarterly reports on tax collections.  Reviewing Community Tax ordinance for amendments to current tax sections.  Working with Community Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to prepare and submit federal and state income tax returns.

Managed Community’s Tax Program, composed of four taxes and four staff (two Tax Auditors, Tax Accountant and Property Assessor); reviewed tax audits; analyzed revenue collected; monitored federal, state and Indian tax activity; advised Community Treasurer, President and Council on tax issues; and developed amendments to the Community Tax Ordinance.
Served on the Salt River Housing and Salt River Financial Services Institute Board of Directors as the Treasury Office liaison.
