I may regret saying this later, but it hasn’t been a highlight reel behind the scenes.



The last 6 months have been more challenging than I would’ve hoped.

There’s been painfully slow business growth, depressive episodes, pets passing away, a cancer diagnosis in the family, strained friendships, and some of the worst cases of self doubt I’ve ever faced.

One wave of horrible news after another.

It was numbing at first.

After years of hard work, this is what I was getting? 

More setbacks? More tension? More “rainy days”?


Some days, I would just flip a few switches off in my mind and power through.

Stoicism, to an uncompromising level.  

Almost as if I was in a meditative state for days. 

It was the only way to stop worrying and to focus on the stable things in life. 

Like my relationship with family, my consistent fitness, my healthy habits

…and my day job. 


Yes, through all these years of client work, I’ve had a 9-5 too.

I never talk about it here because it’s irrelevant to my other professional goals. 

It’s not perfect, but it pays the bills for now. 

Everything else gets taken care of in my free time.

Content, calls, projects – all handled with whatever time I have left over. 

I still get projects here and there, but yeah, branding isn’t my full-time gig (yet). 

Fantastic surprise, huh?  


Life is far from fair, and I’m sure you know that by now.

Social media doesn’t tell the full story.

I am still figuring out all the parts of business and life.

Just like you.


I haven’t slayed Goliath just yet, but things are gradually getting better. 

My mindfulness has improved, my content is getting coached up, and I’m more motivated than ever to create opportunities for myself. 

I think of myself as a resilient person, and others agree. 

Because honestly, there’s no other way to explain how I survived the last 6 months with my soul still intact. 


Building a personal brand — or any business — it’s not for the faint of heart. 

It’s a journey that will introduce you to your true Self. 

It’s mentally taxing

It’s an uphill battle 

But it’ll pay off – sooner or later.


In the meantime, I am here, making my business (and myself) the best it can be.

Because I owe it to myself.

And I owe it to you.

Let's talk about the time I turned my LinkedIn chaos into a brand that speaks volumes



When I first started posting content 4 years ago, there was little rhyme or reason

❌ I would change my colors every few months 
❌ Fonts would vary
❌ I used all sorts of stock images

I thought that keeping things fresh and “trendy” would attract my kind of clients. 

But instead, it was organized chaos. 

To make things worse:

⚫ I never built up any sort of presence or audience 
⚫ My comments sections were empty

A year later, I started dialing in my content design

✅ I went all in with black + white
✅ I got consistent with my fonts
✅ I phased out random stock photos
✅ I eventually added textures to my brand elements

Once this was in place, I started to be seen more so as an authority.

People listened to what I had to say, and I even raised my rates with confidence.

Just ran a 5K, so naturally I had to post about it on LinkedIn for clout! 🤪

It’s not uncommon for a slight cosmetic change to spark these feelings.

That branding you DIY'd isn’t designed to get you your dream clients.

With all the talk about copywriting on LinkedIn, this is a great comparison.

There's more your branding than your logo, and there's more to writing than the hook.


Like the hook in your copy, the logo is the first thing people will notice.

It stops people in their tracks, and gets them interested in what you have to offer.

Make the most of that attention.


With hooks and logos, you take the same considerations:

✅ spark curiosity + emotion
✅ show a distinct perspective
✅ keep it simple


“Branding” without a logo is just trendy fonts and colors.

Copy without a hook is just paragraphs.

Food for thought.
