I handle a mix of duties, including general corporate news, social impact/corporate citizenship news, and Blue Shield’s Diversity & Inclusion content.  I will also help with general issues management in coordination with Blue Shield’s media team.

The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank

Oversee all efforts to promote the work and raise the visibility of the Food Bank, one of the most-respected nonprofits in the nation, using a variety of modalities and methods.
•	Extensive media contacts and background produced several dozen positive stories and mentions on TV, radio and in prominent publications such as Newsweek, Rolling Stone, Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle, far exceeding internal goals.
•	Incisive project management and storytelling skills have been the driving force behind projects like the Food Bank’s "Homeless to Hopeful" and "Seed to Tree" videos.  
•	Excellent relationship-building skills, combined with innovative thinking, led to a Food Bank first: Public Service Announcements featuring celebrities and influencers. (San Francisco Giants PSA) and (rock group Metallica PSA).
•	Use of current events to communicate and enhance organization’s message. For example, helped conceptualize an emergency food pantry to feed US Coast Guard families affected by the government shutdown, which subsequently captured major news coverage.
•	Created new strategies and tactics to bring awareness to ending hunger, such as the organization’s "Green Apple Campaign."
•	Executive Editor of the Food Bank’s Monthly eNewsletter – using platforms such as WordPress to deliver organizational updates and fresh content to over 100,000 donors and supporters. 
•	Manager of the Food Bank’s Twitter account – leading a 5% increase in followers and exponential growth in impressions and engagement.

KCBS Radio - 106.9FM & 740AM

News Anchor: Delivered cogent, timely information to over one million listeners on the Bay Area’s top-rated news station. Lead live on-air interviews on topics of the day.  Anchored KCBS’s coverage on seminal news stories, such as the death of Osama bin Laden, the federal indictment of baseball’s homerun king Barry Bonds, and countless natural disasters.

News Reporter: Researched, wrote, produced and delivered thousands of live and recorded news reports from the field, mostly under stringent deadline pressure.  Excelled during breaking news events, including on-site coverage of the San Bruno Pipeline Disaster, which earned the station multiple industry awards. Covered floods, demonstrations, scandals, elections, and several World Series and NBA Finals victory celebrations.

News Editor: Charged with gathering and fact-checking different news stories from various sources. Scheduled those stories in the hourly lineup for broadcast. Quarterbacked the communications among anchors, reporters and news writers to deliver a top-notch product to the station’s listeners on a 24/7 basis. Recipient of many industry awards.
