I was always interested in using reproductive techniques to produce art and so during the course I focused on printmaking, silkscreen and lithography - as well as photography and video production. In 1985 the computer was just starting to emerge as a creative tool. I began using an Amiga 1000 to experiment with animation. My professional career began in London during the early 90s. I was an early adopter of computer-aided design and audio production and I freelanced for some of the top bureaus and marketing agencies such as Woolf Olins, Saatchi & Saatchi and Conran Design. During this period I also worked as an animator with some of the game-changing independent television production facilities such as RTG, that were taking advantage of the new and emerging technologies. After two years working in Taipei, Taiwan, I relocated to The Netherlands in 2000 and worked as an Art Director for various design studios serving clients as diverse as Royal Haskoning, ING Bank, Océ and ANWB and subsequently focused within the medical sector, both commercial and not-for-profit, for a number of years. Following that, together with my team at Happy Folk, I developed the visual branding for the city of The Hague over a period of three years, which was a lot of fun! I’m a creative with many years of experience and I’m still enjoying the discoveries that my career brings to me. As well as that I have been producing music since the day I was born.
