Emotional marketing at it’s best. 

Today I got upsold by a taxi driver. 

I got in the car and he said. 

“Brrrr cold today mate, where you going?”

I asked him to take me to the train station. 

He asked my final destination. 

I told him. 

He said ok so that’s a travel card and a walk to get there right? 

Tell you what how about I take you door to door for £15. 

Funnily enough. 

The price was 5£ more but it saved me waiting for the train, walking in the cold so I was like yeah let’s do it. 

This is exactly how it should be done. 

He discovered about me, sold me on emotion and delivered a great service. 

He also asked for feedback which I’m happy to give also. 

This is exactly how you should run your marketing copy and sales also. 

Sell with emotion.

What’s it really costing you to keep doing it all yourself?

I have spent 18+ years networking my arse off!

A lot of the time for other people. 

Making them millions in hospitality with my networking and people skills! 

You can do the same! 

Start posting organic content and building those relationships rather than throwing money at people you don’t know!

Most owners post for the sake of it. 

You need more than that!

You are busy and have no time to run your socials. 

I get it you have so much to do to run your business. 

You know how important it is. 

So you get a VA to post it all for you. 

I see it often. 

We call it “Post and Ghost” 

No strategy behind the job. 

Clicks post. 

On to their next client socials. 

This won’t help you grow your audience and your sales. 

PS:- Have you ever posted and ghosted?

Most people are scared of rejection.

I did something many wouldn’t.

I took a trip to London and decided to create my own opportunity.

I visited:

- 15 bars. 
- 10 retail shops. 
- 10 restaurants. 

I asked a few simple questions and then explained what I do.

Responses I got included:

“Ohhh awesome, but not for us.”
“Sounds good, but not right now.”
“Interesting, but we already use someone.”

But I did get 3 people who said, “Yeah, we’d love to discuss it further, let’s arrange a time.”

The ones who said no now at least know I exist and I’ll engage with their socials to stay top of mind for when the time is right.

That’s what a business owner said to me recently. 

I said to him “In this day and age, do you think people are looking online for what you do?”

“Of course” he said. 

“Would you not like to be present there maybe”

2 weeks later, 2 closed clients for this carpenter of 30+ years! 

All I did is create some content about his life in business, some of his work and some of his struggles. 

Said hello to a few new connections. 

Saved him around 40hrs in a month. 

Rest was all him on networking calls! 

You don’t need more noise online you need more intention in your marketing.

Wow crazy pattern interrupt! 

This man made me stop in my tracks. 

I was just sitting at the train station and an older gentlemen in his 80s walked into a packed waiting room. 

“Good morning everyone, look like you are all wired into your technology”

I took out my headphones and put down my phone and acknowledged him immediately. 

Why? 

Because he made me think about how disconnected we can be sometimes. 

I sat for 10 minutes chatting to the gentlemen and it reminded me that in a world of AI and tech. 

Conversation is still king!

Struggling to get seen?

I get it, I was in the same place too. 

It all changed when I committed to showing up. 

- Posting online. 
- Talking to more people.  
- re-establishing relationships from past. 
- Helping without asking. 

When you do these consistently you will find that opportunities will come your way. 

So if you are trying to get more sales in your business start with being more intentional with your marketing. 

Build those relationships.
