Having spent many years traveling the world, I would count my education at the ‘University of Life’ as one of the main drives behind my entrepreneurial ambitions, having learnt first hand that life is what you make it. Being a busy professional with a desire to maintain a healthy lifestyle, a niche was identified in the market for healthy – yet convenient – meal options, giving way to the launch of Kcal. Kcal fills the gap between a fast casual and a healthy lifestyle objective, with every dish calorie controlled with zero compromise on taste, all put together with menu transparency being one of the principles of the business! After extensive research into diet and health trends and statistics – plus valuable input from highly-qualified nutritionists and chefs – our first Kcal restaurant opened its doors in JLT, Dubai in November 2010, with a meticulously planned menu of flavour-packed, nutritious dishes inspired by tastes from around the globe. After the initial success of the first restaurant, further market gaps were identified, giving way to brand divisions including Kcal Meal Plans, Fuel-UP By Kcal, Fuel-UP VMS and our latest divisions to the group - Moments and Spring. Each dynamic new business initiative drives the brand forward as a leader within the health food market. A decade on and a great team of 350 + employees we now have 15 restaurants in the UAE and along with other divisions, serving tens of thousands of healthy meals daily. Our franchise operation is in progress which is extending the brand into international markets. The Kcal mission is to continue pioneering healthy solutions for the busy lifestyle in communities around the world, cementing Kcal as the number one health food alternative. And this is just the start! Taste Life
