A while back, I was sitting across from a client who, by most external measures, was doing very well.

Successful career.
Strong income.
Plenty of options.

At one point, he very willingly said,
“Every day I feel like the floor is going to fall out from under me.”
There was no drama in it.

No exaggeration.
Just honesty.

So we didn’t rush to fix anything.
We slowed the conversation down.

Talked less about numbers and more about what it feels like to carry that kind of pressure day after day. To perform well on the outside while constantly bracing for impact on the inside.

By the end of our time together, nothing magical had changed. His income didn’t disappear. The world didn’t suddenly feel predictable.

Funny thing about decision fatigue.
It doesn’t usually show up when you’re struggling.
It sneaks in when things are working.
