Axiom Medical is the market-leading provider of outsourced occupational health services to enterprise customers, headquartered in The Woodlands, TX and with clients throughout the USA and in Canada and Mexico.  

Our mission is to deliver outstanding, innovative and effective work-related healthcare services to employees, positively impacting their lives, and providing a meaningful return on investment to their employers.

In June 2018, I completed a transaction with Serent Capital to buy out the founders of the company, and for him and his executive team to continue to lead the company through a new phase of growth.

Since the COVID-19 epidemic, Axiom Medical has grown by over 100%, with four new service lines successfully launched and more to come, and has cemented its place as a market leading provider of occupational and population health services.

I joined the board of Escalon as its first external board member to provide broad insights into the outsourced business process market and the private equity investment sector.  My role ended when Escalon secured a growth equity investment from New Harbor Capital.

ESSI

ESSI was the wind-down entity created after the acquisition of EquaTerra by KPMG in February 2011 to administer the distribution of funds to shareholders and formally dissolve the company after escrows and remaining liabilities are extinguished.

Cardon Outreach, a MedData Company

After three years as CEO at Cardon Outreach, I spent three months assisting the company to make the transition to its next CEO.  It was an exciting, enjoyable and successful time in my life, and I handed over a business transformed from a family company to a modern corporate enterprise, that had grown substantially in both revenues and profitability, that had completed and integrated a couple of strategic acquisitions, that was a top three player in its space, and that was platformed and poised for rapid expansion.  The company was sold to MedData in an extraordinarily successful exit.

Transition Support

In my three years as CEO, I transformed Cardon Outreach from a family firm into an effective, efficient, well-managed and dynamic growth business. Specifically I:
– Established a mission-driven, values-based, performance-oriented culture
– Created and leveraged an expanded leadership team comprising 50 key contributors
– Mentored and developed the existing executive team while making key outside hires
– Made and integrated two strategic acquisitions, and divested a non-core business
– Completed a debt refinancing and reduced debt service costs by over 30%
– Rebranded the business as Cardon Outreach, a Technology-enabled Service provider
– Quadrupled investment in technology, and created a branded technology platform
– Formalized the human capital management (Newton, Cornerstone)
– Outsourced payroll and benefits administration (ADP)
– Created an effective finance department on an industrial strength platform (MS Dynamics)
– Established strategic planning, revenue and expense budgets and forecasting disciplines
– Created performance oriented, data-driven incentive plans at every level in the business
– Developed and implemented a detailed go-to-market strategy by service line
– Built a high-performance integrated sales and marketing team team (Salesforce.com)
– Launched an effective web presence with integrated client, patient and employee self-service
– Optimized operations 
– Introduced formal quality and change management disciplines, consolidated multiple service centers
– Institutionalized recruiting and training
– More than doubled revenues and more than quadrupled EBITDA 
– Expanded from 13 states into 40+ states

Morgan Chambers

Founding investor and the first CEO of Morgan Chambers PLC, a boutique firm that created the IT sourcing advisory space in the UK, which he took from startup to European market dominance. After 6 years as CEO with a successful track record of both acquisitive and organic growth, which included starting the US business unit in 1997, Mark negotiated a planned exit while retaining a substantial investment.  Morgan Chambers was acquired by EquaTerra in 2007.
