Work as part of the team developing and implementing the University’s strategy for enabling all staff and students to achieve the maximum value from their ‘end user devices’ (such as desktops, laptops, tablet computers, mobile phones, printers, etc.) 

Design & develop services to support the needs of users whose personal computing requirements are best met through a using Apple Mac OS X based systems. Ensuring an appropriate level of management and support for different classes of device (desktops, laptops) can be delivered as efficiently as possible; and ensuring that services they are designed to meet functionality, security, performance, scalability and business/IT continuity requirements.

* Manage ~500 Macs with Jamf Pro to ensure security, reliability, and to better the user experience with their Mac in a corporate environment
* Communicate effectively with all members of the company and support their technology needs
* "White glove" Apple IT support for senior executives and VIPs across the University
* Application packaging using tools such as Jamf Composer, AutoPKG, Munki and Iceberg/Packages  
* Find solutions to automate various tasks such as account creation and device setup using tools supplied with Jamf Pro or custom Bash scripts
* Prepare, configure, and manage all user accounts, user permissions, and hardware using the Jamf Pro and NoMAD, along with other SaaS applications used within the company such as Ivanti, Jira, Sophos Central and Microsoft Office 365
* Write and maintain a multitude of customer facing knowledge base articles, IT related company wide tech policies, and internal team based processes and documentation using Knowledge management component of Ivanti
* Use Ivanti and Jira for ticket creation to log issues, keep work notes, project management, and maintain structure with users'  technical problems or requests

macOS Systems Administrator

Utilised advanced technical acumen within a key role requiring the delivery of a comprehensive service of support to 340 users within Leicester and Nottingham

Developed an excellent knowledge of disparate technologies in the support of Red Hat Linux, SUSE Linux, Windows, Tru64 Unix and Sun Solaris systems

Provided leadership and direction to an Assistant within the department, while managing key user meetings to define the requirements and developments of the department

Maintained escalated accountability for the procurement of all technical products, with further responsibility for their efficient rollout and integration within the department

Key projects included the development of a system database to improve system accounting, the implementation of Nagios to reduce issue resolution times and the introduction of user forums and webmail facilities

Further major accomplishments included a role as Lead Technical Support for an international astronomy conference, the implementation of a new security policy and the support of user networks
