Growing up all I wanted to be was a stunt man. I had a real knack for falling off things, and one time through things in the shape of a garden shed. I was also not too bad at creative stuff. Drawing up plans for my next big stunt, building bigger things to fall off and coming up with believable stories to explain to my Mum why the arse was ripped out of my best trousers. Little did I know how handy all that creative stuff would be...the falling off things not so much. Pressing the big chunky button on the VHS top loader we fast forward to the future and 1995. When after fiddling with the tracking, the rollercoaster ride that is owning a branding agency began its slow clanking ascent. Starting out as a Junior Designer with a fresh HND in my back pocket, a passion to learn all that I could to make me better at what I do and with the only rips in my trousers being fashionable ones...hey it was the 90s! My career took me to the lofty heights of creative manager before, acting like a stunt man again, I made the jump. This time I didn't fall, instead I landed with a rather successful freelance business. After a while I got tired of my own company, so I decided to create a new one. That was the final shunt over the edge that sent me hurtling at light speed down the track towards forming Flux. I am proud to continue this crazy white-knuckle adventure as a Spark Hunter, Brand Betterer and Creative Director. Kicking creative arse and smashing through the garden sheds of branding alongside my hugely talented colleague, fellow fan of all things geek, brand Jedi and most importantly my great friend, James Allan. Championing better branding and giving a sh’t.
