Already after completing my degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Cape Town, I realized the impact individual characteristics and interpersonal interactions have on people's work and lives. This led me back to university to complete a Master’s degree in Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. As Thought Leader I show how the art of Observational Listening leads to improved communication and interaction between people in a variety of contexts, whether professionally or personally. I currently work as a leadership trainer and psychologist and have had an online counseling practice since 2008. I am a trainer, lecturer and curriculum developer for undergraduate and postgraduate psychology and counselling students at various colleges and universities across the Netherlands. I write books in the field of leadership, interpersonal communication and psychology and am also a contributing author for several publications. As a restorative practitioner I work hands-on, being called in to resolve incidents and initiate the process of conflict resolution, as well as train others to implement the restorative approach.
