Everything starts with Why and my Why has always revolved around the question - “Have I left it better than when I first found it?” Starting in Singapore, at the Esplanade I first discovered my passion for finding new market opportunities – setting my sights on increasing accessibility of the arts to the general public by launching the first theatre on film series (National Theatre Live) at the Esplanade. The curated line-up opened to a 41-show sold out run. I later found myself in New York at a tech-powered food startup, Savory. In my first year as a sales person, I worked alongside the founders to transition the organisation from an adhoc to a full-service model; closing the company's first ever multi-million dollar accounts and hiring and training their first sales teams at scale. This passion for strategic new product development (and tech) led me to Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG), where I led their Enterprise SaaS vertical in San Francisco and doubled the annual business in 2 years; becoming the highest growing book of business in the enterprise tech team. Over the pandemic, my experience in setting up new functions and accelerating growth led me to Heidrick & Struggles' On-Demand Talent arm, where I set up and led their first tech vertical. In that time, I worked on product development for serving the new vertical, as well as expanding commercial territories by 25% in the first year. Finally returning to Singapore, I've continued to cultivate my passion for impactful and innovative work, spending my time working with mission-driven startups to help them expand, scale, and better serve their target markets. But have I reaaaalllllly left it better than I found it? A passion-project-turned-business, I continue to use what the last 10+ years in corporate environments around the world have taught me to help other women navigate the workplace and write their own success stories through my coaching consultancy the -ish.
