Boeing Commercial Airplanes - Operational Excellence Office

Lean consultant supporting deployment of Lean Management System across all Boeing Commercial Airplane programs (737, 747, 777, 787, 777X, 767)  
•     Defined the standards of the Lean Management System for Boeing Commercial Airplanes
•     Taught and coached all commercial airplane programs to deploy the Lean Management System 

Lean Consultant to 737 Program (June 2015-July 2016)
•	Core team member responsible for developing and implementing a Lean Management System
•      Developed model and deployment approach for Leader Standard Work

Lean Consultant to Fleet Management (GoldCare) 	(January 2014 to June 2015)
•	Enabled the turn around of the GoldCare program. 
•	Coached VP, managers, and team members in lean theory, systems and tools focusing on respect for people. 
•	Recognized for creating a Lean culture in GoldCare through my “show-do-teach efforts”
•	Implemented Visual Management System with daily stand up meetings to drive execution and provide support
•	Planned and led multiple Value Stream Mapping workshops

Results Enabled: 
 - Secured largest contracts in Boeing Commercial Aviation Services history
 - Improved dispatch reliability of customer 787 aircraft fleets above contracted levels 
 - Improved airplane part availability to nearly 100%. This significantly reduced risk of Airplane On Ground situations
 - Reduced flow time to on-board new customers by 50%

Lean Practitioner

I coached leaders and managers how to improve their organizations though the application of lean practices and principles of operational excellence.

Utah State University

Organized the continuous improvement efforts of the Housing and Residence Life department which oversaw the occupancy and upkeep of over 50 buildings. 

Adapted and implemented lean management systems and tools including: PDCA, Hoshin Kanri, CEDAC, Visual Management, 5S, Standard Work, Daily Management, etc.

Designed and successfully implemented a tiered suggestion system so both employees and customers can help find ways to improve. 

Utilized some of the TWI methodologies (Job Relations, Job Methods, Job Instructions), to improve our custodial department. As a result we were able to stabilize their operations, boost morale, and reduce required summer labor hours by 30%. 

Helped improve the remodel planning process to provide greater visibility and shorten lead time. 

Organized and executed a compound wide cleanup to reduce wasted time searching for items. We removed over 21 semi loads of unneeded/obsolete items that have been kept around "just in case" for many years. With the clutter out of the way, the team can find what they need.

Created team visual boards and a huddle structure to improve communication, solve problems, and drive daily execution.

Lean Team Coordinator - Housing and Residence Life

Shingo Institute - Home of the Shingo Prize

Proposed and managed the reorganization of the Shingo Research and Professional Publication Award process from batch to flow so that recipients could be recognized and promote their work much sooner. 

Organized a steering committee for the award to refine and elevate the criteria. 

Coordinated the application and review process for the Research Award. 

Helped plan and support Shingo Prize conferences in 2009 (Nashville) and 2010 (Salt Lake City).  

Studied best practices at Shingo Prize recipient companies. (O.C. Tanner and Autoliv)
