I am an experienced and dedicated Sydney-based solicitor practising primarily (but not solely) in criminal defence. I completed a Bachelor of Arts / Laws (Honours) at the University of Sydney. After graduating, I worked for two years as the Tipstaff / Associate to the Hon. Justice Ian G Harrison, a Judge of the common law division of the Supreme Court of NSW. I commenced my practising career as a solicitor at Legal Aid NSW, gaining entry to their highly competitive graduate solicitor program. I first practised in family law and care & protection, after which I worked as a criminal lawyer for many years. In October 2020, I opened my own firm, Bernhaut Solicitors.
