Hi! I am a UK based Geotechnical Engineer who is neurodivergent (autistic, dyslexic, and dyspraxic) and partially sighted (keratoconus)). To date, I have 20+ years professional experience in ground engineering. I am also a passionate, tireless, focused multi-award Equity Diversity Inclusion Accessibility Champion / Advocate in the workplace and society. Frequently I write / blog, research, present, mentor, advise, and lead a neurodiversity Employee Resource Group and a cross-sector national neurodiversity network for all types of engineers. My passion for ground engineering stemmed from as a kid, when I started collecting minerals and rock samples and designing Lego mega-structures in my bedroom. Now, in my early 50s, I am living my dream, working for an international multidisciplinary consultancy, providing innovative and robust solutions. I am involved in using either laboratory or in-situ tests to derive soil and rock properties in the design and stabilisation of most types of structures and solving other engineering problems as a Geotechnical Engineer and understanding these natural materials, alongside geological processes and geohazards associated with the proposed infrastructure as an Engineering Geologist. My core skills are as follows: * UK based Chartered Engineer, Chartered Geologist, European Geologist, RoGEP registered with 25+ years experience * Planning, interpreting and reporting of ground investigations, developing site specific ground models * Soil and rock mechanics, data management and analyses, project and ground risk management, statistics * Design of foundations (shallow and deep), retaining walls, haul roads; slope stability, kinematic analyses * Specialising in geohazards, geotechnical risk identification, assessment, management and mitigation * Experience on international projects located in: UK, Europe, Russia, Middle East, West Africa and Canada
