The Upstream segment operates across 28 Countries through five global technical and operating functions and is responsible for activities in oil and natural gas exploration, field development and production, and midstream transportation, storage and processing in some of the most technically and environmentally demanding locations around the world.

Director level role as part of the Group HR Global Leadership Development and Learning Team in BP.  Responsible for the Global Foundational Development Curriculum for over 35,000 graduates and early career managers across all segments and disciplines.  Built US / Western Hemisphere team footprint as well as supporting the Global Wells Organisation as Leadership SME including redesign of critical director level HiPo program and supporting development of leadership offering in response to the Bly Report.

Senior Manager level role as part of the Group HR Leadership Development and Learning Team, working in the area of Performance Management, delivering leadership programs globally across the 80,000 employee international energy company.  Managed $6.5 budget across both open enrollment programs and organisation level development initiatives.

Working to the VP Talent and Development; Manager level role responsible for planning and coordination across the areas of Recruitment, Talent, Learning, Workforce Planning and Global Mobility.  Supported VP Talent and Development in all matters including budget control ($33m budget) and forecasting, running outer office and Board briefings.

Global Leadership and Organisational Excellence Partner, working to the Global Director Learning as part of AZ HR.  Led work to upgrade existing career development online portal and worked with outsourced supplier to improve learning program design process.

Tarmac Building Products Ltd (Division of Anglo American plc)

Led the Continuous Improvement team within Tarmac Precast Concrete a leading Manufacturer of Building and Concrete products in the UK; involved in internal business change and Lean improvement, working alongside both Tarmac Change Agents and external consultants.  Sat as Board member and adviser on two of the three UK Business Unit boards.

Change Agent within Tarmac Precast Concrete working on Project Coral Lean Transformation project.  Working alongside McKinsey & Company team to prepare Tarmac for sale as non core to the parent Anglo American plc business.

British Army

After leadership and management training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, employed throughout early military career in a number of progressively accountable leadership, management, training and leadership development roles.  Began operational career in 40th Regiment RA, leading and managing teams of from 30 to 120 people and culminating in roles as Adjutant (Head of HR) and then Battery Commander (Department Head) in 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery (3RHA).  Always promoted at the earliest opportunity, and at the head of peer group, finished career as a Major.

Earlier in career was selected for and passed the demanding P-Company parachute selection course serving as a Forward Observation Officer with 7th Para RHA in support of 2 Para.  Attended and passed a number of specialist Artillery technical training programs as well as the Junior Command and Staff Course (JOTES2), Defence Technology Course (DTC MA) and the Advanced Command and Staff Course (psc(j)).

A number of these roles were performed in the most demanding and pressurised leadership and management environment of operational military deployments including operations in the Balkans (Bosnia & Herzegovina and FYROM) and Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom).  Also deployed as part of the United Nations (UN) force in Cyprus (UNFCYP) during the eventful period covering the Islands unification referendum and Cyprus' accession to the European Union (EU)

I coach leaders to grow and be better. I am an ICF accredited ACC Executive Coach with experience developing leaders at all levels from graduate new-hires to Board level executives. With particular expertise in career transitions, unlocking potential and conquering imposter syndrome. As Chief Storyteller I help leaders to develop and use powerful stories whether they want to influence their teams, their stakeholders or their customers. 

I have experience of working across a variety of sectors including: CPG, Total Beverage, Oil and Gas; Pharmaceuticals; Manufacturing; Defense; Quarrying and Extraction, Building Products & Electronics. I have worked across the world, in particular in Europe and North America.
