I've worked in tech my entire career and of late I noticed more and more automation enter the consumer markets. From kiosk ordering, digital kitchen concepts, and more automation at checkout and point of sale vs having a human in that role. 

My question - what is the net effect on sales when the baby boom generation, which has disposable income but did not grow up with technology, is faced with choosing to buy from a retailer with automation in place or eat at a restaurant with automation in place?

I’m looking for a reporter, podcast host, or independent journalist who is willing to cover the story of the dangers of electrolyte drinks. 

Electrolyte drinks are being increasingly marketed and sold as harmless daily hydration aids, and promoted by dozens of influencers as essential to health and performance. But what’s being left out of the conversation is that these products often contain synthetic vitamins and mineral concentrations that are extremely harmful when used regularly or incorrectly.

Like many people, I consumed electrolyte drinks thinking I was being healthy and staying hydrated. They were marketed to me as safe, clean, and beneficial. But after daily use of Liquid I.V., I developed vitamin B6 toxicity that destroyed my health and ravaged my brain and body. Extreme dizziness, inability to stand or walk on my own, head to toe neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia, heart palpitations, hallucinations, vestibular migraines, tinnitus, extreme panic, nausea and vomiting, and inability to sleep are just a few of the symptoms I’m still recovering from a year later. 

What’s most troubling is that I’m far from alone. I speak to people every week who are experiencing unexplained neurological symptoms, heart issues, and severe nervous system dysregulation after using electrolyte products exactly as instructed. I’ve met more than a dozen affected people after sharing my story in a single comment on TikTok. 

After warning a couple of people who had the product in their cart at Costco, they told me they were already experiencing many of the things I was, and never would have attributed it to the Liquid IV. 

When getting my hair cut, after losing my hair by the fistful, the stylist asked me what happened to my hair. When I told her, she was shocked as she said she consumed Liquid IV daily and was having the same unexplained symptoms. 

Synthetic vitamin B6 is so dangerous that Australia and the Netherlands have changed their laws to ban or put warning labels on products containing it, and limit the amount that can be included, as well as forcing these products to be behind a counter and prescribed by a doctor.

And on the second episode of the new show Brilliant Minds on Disney+, the patient develops vitamin B6 toxicity and becomes paralyzed, an actual symptom of consumption. 

These drinks and powders are also being sold at grocery stores, Costco Wholesale, Sprouts Farmers Market, Whole Foods Market, and Target, as “hydration boosters” without any discussion of dosing limits, cumulative exposure, or individual risk factors. No mention that these products are genuinely dangerous. 

I believe there’s a timely investigative story here about how electrolyte supplements are regulated and marketed, and why people are getting sick from electrolyte drinks without realizing why.
