Matt grew up in a small river town in southern Oregon. Dirt Bikes, salmon fishing and white water rafting were just part of life there. It was an awesome place to grow up. When he was 15 he was working at the local car wash where he started selling wash packages to customers and created a program of unlimited washes for a monthly fee. (Unheard of at the time) He had a repeat customer come in in his dream BMW. Matt struck up a conversation with him about how he was able to have this and one of the nicest homes in the area, in the little town where nobody could seem to afford something like this. He said, “sales is the way to have everything you ever wanted.” The best part was that sales got you everything you wanted but it also helped the people you sold to get everything they wanted! Win win for everyone. He was hooked! After some years of school and manual labor jobs he ended up in automotive sales. He had some awesome trainers and learned a lot through the years. He loved sales and ended up running a 30 million dollar BMW dealership, but what meant so much more than that was developing people and uncovering hidden talent that people didn’t even see in themselves. “There is no better feeling than someone coming into a job with nothing, sometimes even Homeless, and a year later seeing them having the life they always wanted.” I’ve seen sales bring people from the brink of giving up, to thriving and making a huge impact in the world. Knowing I could have something to do with lighting that path for them is what keeps me going all day everyday. There is so much more to life than staying in some job you hate and barely getting by. There is so much more to sales than what meets the eye. It’s all about the mindset and the will to keep moving forward, keep going and never giving up. Do that and you WILL have the life you dream of.
