nonoRank

nonoRank was a GDPR compliant web search engine that performed dynamic topic clustering with the idea of going beyond the typical top 10 of results, and allowing its users to explore the web. There are trillions of web pages, but we stop at the Google top 10. nonoRank tried to revolutionize such approach, with a license based software for not undermining users's data. 

The idea got funding from Uppsala University Invest AB and from several public entities such as VFT and UIC.

Sadly, the team failed in the commercialization. Though the technology developed was reused in PapersHive. 

Main tasks:
✅ Software Engineer: developing mainly Java and Python for APIs and interfacing with Elastic Stack
✅ Pitching: pre-product and idea stage
✅ Cloud: became familiar with AWS, Digital Ocean and Google Cloud
✅ Business: identifying target customer personas and define a scalable business model
