I essentially act in a dual role: (1) Trusted advisor and strategic partner to client organizations on helping them achieve their strategic business and/or event objectives, and (2) Trusted liaison and industry consultant to all of my external partners (talent/speakers), to guide and execute on the highest value outcomes for all parties.

My client relationships consist mostly of Fortune 1000 corporations, small-to-mid size companies, and professional associations - with also a mix of colleges/universities, nonprofits, and government agencies from around the globe.  Simply put, I serve the needs of corporate executives, HR leaders, sales managers, learning & development professionals, and meeting & event planners on any/all organizational initiatives.

Voya Financial

Was responsible for the growth of Voya's Select Advantage and Select Advantage Advisory Mutual Fund platforms across all distribution channels (independent, bank, tax-exempt and retirement) in the Midwest & Western U.S. region. 

Along with supporting the firms and advisors in my own territory, I worked closely with the National Accounts team to support Voya's relationship within its top tier firms.  Which included presenting at regional events/national conferences and developing key relationships with the top centers of influence.

The responsibility of a Commercial Surety Account Executive is to analyze risk and make sound underwriting decisions, produce premium by growing with current agencies and appointing new agencies, and managing existing agencies by making customer service the number one priority. I was responsible for managing hundreds of agencies in the Northwestern/Western United States including Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah.

1. Production Development

-Generate new bond business by creating and maintaining relationships with insurance agencies nationwide. This includes researching prospective agencies, careful planning of the agency call, clear and professional presentation skills, and persistent and accurate follow up.
-Develop and maintain existing agency relationships through the use of personal visits, marketing materials, and promotional items.

2. Risk Analysis and Underwriting

- Analyze surety risk by reviewing financial statements, conducting financial ratio analysis, and determining overall company financial health.
-Analyze applications, court documents, bond forms, statutes, and indemnity agreements in order to approve or deny bond requests based on the analysis.

3. Agency Management

-Enhance the agent experience through commercial surety expertise, availability, responsiveness, and helpfulness.

Commercial Account Executive

As a Commercial Surety Production Underwriter, I was responsible for generating and soliciting commercial bond business nationwide as well as accurately underwriting new business requests. My job responsibilities could be broken down into two main categories:

1. Production Development and Agency Management

-Generate new bond business by creating and maintaining relationships with insurance agencies nationwide. This includes researching prospective agencies, careful planning of the agency call, clear and professional presentation skills, and persistent and accurate follow up.
-Develop and maintain existing agency relationships through the use of personal visits, marketing materials, and promotional items.
-Identify new bond opportunities and develop strategies as to how they can be captured.

2. Risk Analysis and Underwriting

-Analyze surety risk by reviewing financial statements, conducting financial ratio analysis, and determining overall company financial health.
-Analyze applications, court documents, bond forms, statutes, and indemnity agreements in order to approve or deny bond requests based on the analysis.
-Notify agents of underwriting decisions via clear and professional written and verbal communication.
