The Professional Learning Facilitator, Digital Capability will work across the Information Services Division to understand technology projects and changes for DELWP, then lead, develop and deliver innovative training solutions and resources accordingly. Training technologies may include Microsoft products such as Windows 10, MS Teams, SharePoint (primarily ECM SharePoint), Office 365, Microsoft Outlook or other technologies such as hardware and devices.

The Professional Learning Facilitator, Digital Capability will model best practices when raising awareness and building capability for change and self-enabled learning. This role will also manage the Digital Workplace Learning Hub and inform ICT content such as podcasts with partnering Divisions such as Digital Communications.

As a new role in the school, I was given the opportunity to take pursue it considering my experience with the technology. The STEM Lab Assistant was intended to manage, maintain and operate the “Tinkerspace” that houses all STEM-related equipment. The space is supervised by the STEM Lab Assistant whenever students are using it, in addition to the classroom teacher. The role also offered consultation for staff about integration of STEM into curriculum, troubleshooting of activities and additional IT assistance, very similar to the IT Lab Assistant role.

The technology available at the time of employment included:
-	3D Printers
-	Laser Cutter / Engraver
-	Raspberry Pi 3
-	Workshop tools (hammers, saws, etc.)

STEM Lab Assistant

- Hardware and software support for teachers and students inside and outside the classroom (Windows and Mac OSX; Android, Windows Phone and iOS platforms; BYOD and school-provided technology)
- Installation and maintenance of technology within the school
- Maintenance and setup of Audio Visual equipment for school-related events (projectors, speakers, sound boards, etc.)
- Provide staff training and Professional Development for effective use of technology in classes
- Attend Professional Development seminars and deploy what is learned within the school
- Keep up to date with the latest educational technologies and facilitate their application within the school.
- Supervise and assist Apple MacBook and iMac use by students.
- Manage and maintain the Digital Video Catalogue and ensure copyright laws are followed with all media used in classes

IT Lab Assistant

- Operate the IT Helpdesk, providing 1st and 2nd line support for staff and students within St. Columba’s College (Windows and Mac OSX; Android, Windows Phone and iOS platforms; BYOD and school-provided technology)
- Maintain user accounts and groups in Active Directory
- Maintain user accounts in Google Apps For Education (previously used Microsoft Exchange for Mail Server)
- Administer and update Simon Systems software (St. Columba’s College Intranet system)
- Replace consumables and troubleshoot issues with printers and MFDs on site
- Provide Professional Development for staff and students on new software or hardware deployments within the school.
- Provide induction for new staff regarding technology and procedures related to IT within the school
- Create and update supporting technical and user documentation for the IT department and the school
- Work with teachers to update old and investigate new applications for use within the classroom
- Work with other departments in the school (Front Office, Science, Leadership, etc.) to research and deploy new software and infrastructure within the school
- Any other duties requested by the Network Administrator, eLearning Coordinator or Principal
