I am an Associate in the Restructuring & Insolvency team at Aaron & Partners LLP and I regularly act for insolvency practitioners, creditors, companies and directors on a wide range of contentious insolvency matters including: (i) Misfeasance and breach of fiduciary duty / trust claims; (ii) Wrongful and fraudulent trading claims; (iii) Antecedent transactions; (iv) Unlawful dividends; (v) Outstanding directors’ loan accounts / unlawful loans; (vi) Void dispositions; (vii) Restrictions on the re-use of a company name; (viii) Applications pursuant to sections 234 - 236 / 366 of the Insolvency Act 1986; (ix) Bankruptcy and winding-up petitions; (x) Proof of debt appeals; (xi) Statutory demands and set aside applications; and (xii) Interim remedies including provisional liquidations and freezing injunctions. I also have experience working on non-contentious assignments (e.g. assisting on pre-packaged administrations, drafting security reviews, advising on the application of section 216 of the Insolvency Act 1986, advising on tenant insolvency and its effect on the landlord etc.). Prior to qualifying as a Solicitor, I worked as an advocate for many years in high value costs litigation and I attended well over 300 hearings including detailed assessments and costs and case management conferences. In 2020, I passed the Higher Courts (Civil Advocacy) Qualification which entitles me to exercise rights of audience in all civil proceedings in the higher courts in England and Wales. Since then, I have regularly conducted hearings on the matters that I am instructed on, including directions / interim hearings, trials and final hearings. Further, I have conducted private examinations / section 236 applications on behalf of office-holders. Outside work, I am an avid runner and I have achieved multiple ‘sub three hour’ marathons which has gained me entry into many of the world’s major marathons as a time qualifier.
