Landmark Graphics Corporation

Led a small development team in meeting a challenging release schedule for one of Landmark's flagship products, the oil and gas industry's most advanced surface mapping and modeling system, Z-MAP Plus. Wrote GUI enhancements in C/X/Motif, provided time estimates to program manager, assigned tasks, conducted defect triage with test lead and program manager, fixed bugs.  Led the team in porting the application from Unix to Linux.

Development Project Leader

Java application development, including writing and maintaining code for rendering in Java Graphics2D, and GUI development in Swing.

Java application development (Z-MAP Plus PowerView).  Wrote JNI code to allow new Java application to call algorithms written in C++.  Created automated nightly regression test system of C++ algorithms, using shell scripts.  Used Forte for Java GUI editor to develop new user interface panel.  Assigned tasks, conducted defect triage, conducted code reviews, fixed bugs.

Z-MAP Plus group.  c. 1995 – 2001. New GUI development using C/X/Motif, bug fixing, and source code administration through release to manufacturing in a multi-platform unix environment.  Used ClearCase and RCS code management systems.  Performed maintenance programming and some work with shell programming (primarily csh), and acted as the group’s “buildmaster”.  

c. 1991-1994. Part of small team that developed and brought to market the oil and gas industry's first knowledge-based gridding and contouring productivity tool, called Contouring Assistant.  Did algorithm programming in C and FORTRAN; interface programming in C/Motif/UIL; knowledge-based programming using Neuron Data's Nexpert Object; source code administration and release to manufacturing in a multi-platform unix environment.

Research Group.  1990 -1991. Implemented enhancements and new modules for subsurface mapping and modeling programs; used analytical skills to test ideas about computational geometry algorithms.
