With over 10 years of experience in risk management in the insurance industry, I am currently the Chief Risk Officer and board member at MISE (Markel Insurance SE) at Markel, a global and diverse financial holding company. In this role, I oversee the risk strategy, governance, and culture of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and enhancing the value creation and protection of the business. Previously, I worked as the CRO Life Germany at Zurich Gruppe Deutschland and as the Risk Officer Global Life at Zurich Versicherungs-Gesellschaft AG, where I managed the strategic risk management of the global life business, the product approval process for unit-linked, protection and guaranteed products, and the internal capital model for global life risk. I also co-authored a book chapter on Solvency II and capital investments, and have multiple publications on risk-related topics.
