I deliver innovative and high-impact digital transformation through strong, inclusive leadership, partnered with significant technical, product and client facing skills developed through 25 years of experience in both public and private sector organisations. A constructive disruptor, driven by a passion to make a difference, I create, develop, and lead high performing, engaged, and motivated teams to deliver solutions that create impactful, long-lasting success, using a variety of on-, near- and off-shore resource, as well as working with vendors of all sizes from small software houses to “Big 4” consultancies. With proven evidence of making positive culture change, evidenced through staff feedback, I embed close collaboration with key stakeholders across all my workstreams to ensure organisational value the core delivery outcome. I started in technology around 25 years ago as a trainee developer in retail banking. Having the chance to learn on the job from some amazing engineers and architects was a golden opportunity. I travelled regularly to client sites across Europe, grew to lead a dedicated team of developers, and realised the fact I was able to do a job I loved! From this has come my very strong desire to create opportunities for other people from non traditional backgrounds to get into tech, it worked for me, I want to give that same chance to others. Through my career I've led teams, designed solutions and partnered with business stakeholders to develop exceptional technology solutions across a variety of sectors including: public sector, retail banking, legal, accountancy and conveyancing. My public sector experience came at Parliament, where my remit grew to encompass the full product lifecycle for all products and services the organisation required to operate as the first Engineering Director that Parliament had ever had. Delivering the solutions to operate during COVID and being appointed OBE for doing so was a career high, and I suspect I'll never leave such a legacy again! Having moved back to a significant private sector role at Gallagher I am now growing, supporting and developing my global team to deliver significant growth for our business, driving exciting and innovative new products and services that make real impact in the reinsurance market. I'm an inclusive leader, with a coaching style and a strong belief in continuing personal development. Paired with a unwavering belief that diversity in teams is strength, I have shown time and again that strong, autonomous but well supported teams are the key to success in any project.
