I'm the founder and CEO at Bizink. We help busy accountants or bookkeepers grow by improving their marketing. We do that with high-performance websites, engaging content and modern marketing tools. Everything we do is built for accountants and bookkeepers and streamlined so they can run their practices in the knowledge their online marketing is in safe hands. I'm based in the South Island of New Zealand but the Bizink team is global. We power the marketing of accountants and bookkeepers in Australia, Canada, New Zealand the USA and the UK plus a few places in-between! I love working with accountants and bookkeepers because of their vital role in business and the economy. Sitting at the intersection of business and technology is an amazing place to be right now.

March was my last month at Bizink. It feels weird writing that. I started Bizink back in 2012. The time is right for me to step down with my co-founders continuing what we started over 12 years ago. Bizink was built to serve accountants and bookkeepers, underlaid with the desire to help small business owners. “Accountants are a business owner’s most trusted advisor” is a cliche but only because it’s true. I’m proud we have helped so many firms with their websites and marketing. And through them, their small business owner clients. Marketing for accountants is a tough gig. Everybody has an opinion on it. Few deliver and almost none at scale. Bizink has been for years. Some numbers to illustrate that: - Currently serving hundreds of firms from all over the world - 1500+ websites built in last decade, 100s more firms helped with marketing - Millions of small business owners reached monthly Some of my personal highlights: - Built a global team and client base from a tiny mountain town in New Zealand - Loyal clients - some 2013 sign-ups are still happy subscribers - Partnered with industry leaders like Xero, Intuit and Ignition A massive thank you to everyone who has been on the journey with me: firstly the team and clients, past and present. Without you, there would not be a Bizink. To everyone else - my network of the last decade might be the most valuable asset I’ve built. I appreciate you and will post more thoroughly on this tomorrow. What’s next for me? I’ll reveal a bit more in the next few days but would love to chat with anyone in my network about collaborating or just chew the fat. Send me a DM! A few people I'd like to thank, apologies to those I've missed... Team: Margaret Gimpel a rock! Anthea Cronau legend. Irish Ramos, Sophie Olsen, Jayden Major keep smashing it! Kim Roche drove early growth. Kamila Viskupova employee No.1, I've not forgotten all you did. Clients: too many too mention but Brad Golchin FCPA thanks for the early advocacy. Leanne Berry, Mark Telford, Andrew Millington. Michael Young first client in 2013 and still with Bizink! Partners: been great to collaborate and thanks for the referrals Brannon Poe, Martine Hoosen, Jeannie Savage, Ryan Lazanis, CPA, Damien Greathead, Scott Charlton, Nick Sinclair, Guy Pearson and Ethan Cooney, Luis Felipe Sanchez So many others who've helped along away whose input and insights I've benefitted from: Meryl Johnston, Gayatri Wood, Jordan Vickery, Heidi Turner, Liz Farr, Nikole Mackenzie, ✌️Trent McLaren, Justine Wallendorf, Luke Kemeys (CA). Mike Chisholm Acclipse inspired me to do Bizink, you don't get enough recognition in the industry! Dean Dunning you know the inside story better than anyone, let's have an AF beer soon. Sorry if I forgot to mention anyone. Blame it on writing this at 5am and LinkedIn's character limit.
What a sabbatical looks like for me... I signed my deal to exit Bizink and had a few months of transition to think about my next step. A hard-stop into 100% downtime felt like something would break in me. Like not warming down after a run. So I have decided to taper down for a couple of months before a trip back to the UK in May and June to see friends and family. I'm 90% clear on what I'll be doing after that trip. A company is set up, a website is being built and I'll let you know more soon. Before then I'd love to have a bunch of conversations. I've got nothing to sell and would love to give back. Who I'd especially love to chat to: - accountants doing over $750k a year whose marketing isn't delivering - lawyers who want more from their website and marketing - marketing/digital agency owners that are stuck or struggling - vendor in the accounting space who want to reach small business owners through their accounting partner channel But keen to chat to anyone in my network if you think I can add value. I've got more time on my hands than in my whole career and it would be great to catch up. DM and we can work out a time.
