Recruited to direct a planned giving program for TCC, an organization dedicated to healing children from trauma and behavioral health challenges. 

Developed successful strategies for relationship management with legacy donors and recruitment of new donors. Presented "lunch and learn" planned giving seminars. Created marketing collateral, web content and campaigns, using high impact communications to tell a compelling story to attract and retain donors. Utilized Heritage Society program to recognize legacy donors.

Conference on World Affairs (CWA), University of Colorado Boulder

Directed one of Colorado's largest events. The renowned annual CWA featured 100 international speakers and performers on 200 free, public events over five days each April. Oversaw and promoted year-round CWA Athenaeum with individual speaker programs.

Developed communications, marketing, community and campus outreach, as well as advertising, social media and brand strategies to double audience size in early years, thereafter consistently filling 78,000 seats (maximum capacity). 

Recruited celebrities, heads of state, award-winning musicians, journalists, filmmakers, innovative business leaders, scientists and other great thinkers and achievers to present at the annual conference and CWA Athenaeum. Increased CWA media engagement, including coverage from local and national outlets (New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, Guardian, Financial Times, The Atlantic, NPR, C-SPAN and MSNBC). 

Utilized fiscally sound practices to create a highly efficient team of office staff, faculty director, student assistants and dozens of community and student volunteers. Responsible for $500K annual expenditures, including base budget of $350K. Strategized and implemented fundraising plan, including corporate sponsor recruitment, fulfillment and stewardship, individual development, grant writing and bequest campaigns. Raised $150K annually in sponsorships and donations to meet expenditures above base budget, always operating CWA in the black. Raised a backup fund of one year's full expenses, as well as $1.8 million in matching funds to launch an endowment campaign.

My zeal for poitín (POT-cheen) dates way back to my teen years, when I asked my Irish, Franciscan nun-cousin to bring some for me from the "Old Country." It was still illegal at the time, but Sister Mary tracked down the hooch and smuggled it home in a holy water bottle, giving birth to my eventual vocation and Smuggling Nun Poitín. SmugNun makes for a refreshing, smooth aperitif, as well as an inventive, fresh base for elevated cocktails. Yum.
