Optaros, Inc.

Company co-founder of e-commerce and open source consulting firm. Member of the leadership team. Led the global consulting team, which included teams and developers located in Bucharest, Romania; Austin, Texas; San Francisco, CA; and Boston, MA. Responsible for the hiring, training, and overall performance of the consulting team.

In addition to being responsible for the consulting team, I was also responsible for Client Satisfaction and Client Relationship Management. The Client Partner team reported to me.

Our team built commerce solutions for clients such as Macy's, Walmart, Nestle, Coach (now Tapestry), n2N Commerce, Wayfair, and many others.

Joined the team as a new sales associate as a means of closing a gap in my skill set. I had never been responsible for selling prior to this experience. I chose to sell pre-owned cars (the managers gave me a choice) because each sale represented a new challenge. I learned a consultative sales process, how to address customer objections, and how to manage and control the sales process while making the customer feel in complete control. Named the #1 pre-owned sales person in November 2003.

Viant Corp/divine, Inc.

Managed $40MM P&L and 350 consultants at divine, Inc., including the Strategy, Creative and Technology consulting businesses and the professional services arm for two software products
- Identified and addressed service revenue forecasting issues for software product.
- Addressed cost-cutting needs across Professional Services through headcount reduction.
- Identified cross-selling and product/service integration opportunities within company.

VP Global Solutions Director

Viant, Inc.

With the hiring of a new COO, I agreed to take on the General Manager (GM) role in Boston again as we reorganized the company. The responsibilities were similar to the GM description below. In this case, however, I also prepared the office for divine, Inc.'s acquisition of Viant Corporation, which was announced in April 2002 and occurred officially in September 2002.

General Manager, Boston Office

Led operations, management, and staffing of approximately 175 consultants nationwide. Developed and instituted practices for delivery quality, systems delivery methodology, and consultant training.
- Raised client satisfaction levels from 42% to 75% over a 6-month period in 2001.
- Developed and implemented the risk management process for the company.
- Monitored the delivery of a $10MM engagement in a quality partner role.
- Managed training staff that delivered 17 classes to over 200 participants in a 5-month period.

Operations and Delivery Leader

Managed the P&L for the Boston office of Viant Corporation. Oversaw client engagements with FleetBoston, Houghton-Mifflin, General Dynamics, Polaroid Corporation, UPromise, CentrPort Software, Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), GTECH.
- Generated $7.5MM in revenue per quarter.
- Managed 80 consultants, business development, quality of delivery, and office operations.
- Consistently met revenue and operating margin targets.

Interim General Manager, Boston Office

Pioneered knowledge-sharing role in the company. Acted as knowledge intermediary for project teams. Facilitated knowledge sharing across projects and between individuals to reduce project delivery time and improve quality of results. 
- Identified critical information to capture, store and share. 
- Instituted knowledge capture and sharing processes.
- Spoke at IBMÕs Knowledge Management Conference about the Knowledge Broker role.

Project Catalyst

- Managed the client relationship and team of 13 in the design and development of an online account opening system for FleetBoston.
- Led multiple strategy projects at American Express Company. Examples: led a team of 8 in the development of a global, corporate-wide interactive strategy; led a team of 6 in assessing and evaluating the business and technology future of one of the company's e-commerce web sites.

Consulted on several, large-scale business transformation/re-engineering engagements for utility companies and financial services clients, including Duke Energy, PECO, IES, SunTrust, The Vanguard Group, Merrill Lynch.
- Facilitated and led client teams of 8-10 members through process redesign efforts.
- Managed sponsor relationships and provided coaching at senior manager and business unit head level.
- Fast-tracked from Associate to Senior Associate to Managing Associate in 2 1/2 years.

Led multiple systems integration engagements from $250K  $1.5MM for telecom and financial services clients using client-server architecture. Managed teams through business requirements definition, technical design sessions, implementation and testing.

We teach aspiring entrepreneurs to start their dream business.

We founded Zenagos to help people start their own businesses and avoid common start-up mistakes – without investing tens of thousands of dollars in an MBA and without taking several months to build a complicated business plan.

Zenagos’ Innovation Trek is a 12-week experience designed to give entrepreneurs the tools, feedback, and plans they need to confidently start their dream business. The program is a mix of online videos, written instruction, live working sessions with the Zenagos experts, and accountability check-ins with fellow entrepreneurs. 

At the end of the Innovation Trek, entrepreneurs will have their own personalized financial, marketing and advertising plans as well as a series of checklists to keep them on track. The goal is to provide each Trekker with personalized feedback on their business ideas and help them see their path forward.
